i have been asked if i would like to purchase a set of cams from an 03 cobra to put in a mark viii motor i am swapping into a 99 mustang. i have read that the mark stuff has less duration on the intake than the 96-98 cobra cams. what about the 03 cams? would there be any negative effects from swapping these in? any positive?

The 03 cams have 20 degrees less duration than 96-98 cams. Dont put 03 cams in your B heads, you will lose 15-20rwhp by using 03 cams compared to 96-98 cams. Browse the market section for someone selling their 96-98 Cobra cams. They go for cheap these days.

03/04 cams are exactly the same as Mark 8 cams, 184 degrees intake duration. 99/01 or 96-98 Cobra intake cams will work great.

The exhaust cams are the same in all 4vs except the GT.
