How do you guys say your rides hang with say a MM setup solid axle or a Griggs? Can you guys surpass a setup 3 link or 4 link solid axle car? Also, hows the launch in straight line races can you put the power to the pavement without concern of breakage?
I would really prefer not to get into an IRS/SRA argument here because it seems there has been far too many of them on the boards lately. But.............. long before an IRS was even on a drawing board people tried to figure out how to improve handling of an SRA because SRA's don't like going around corners. All sorts of things were thrown at the SRA and the most common things used today to improve handling are torque arms, panhard bars and Watts Links. All of these things improve the handling characteristics of an SRA.
An IRS doesn't need these things because it's a vastly improved suspension component. There is a reason why EVERY SINGLE HIGH PERFORMANCE SPORTS CAR manufactured today comes from the factory equipped with an IRS.
A Cobra IRS DOES need to have the factory rubber eradicated from the entire assembly because suspension components cannot be allowed to wander aimlessly because it will allow the tires to point in undesirable directions. This is why a factory rubber bushed IRS will give the driver an uneasy feeling of not having control of their car during a launch or aggressively attacking an interchange cloverleaf on or off ramp at high speed.
I'm an IRS guy and a road racer. I truly believe that my IRS makes me a better driver. My IRS is extremely predictable and also very forgiving. I can drive an IRS at 10/10ths. Those are attributes I don't benefit from with an SRA under me. And yes, I drive both IRS and SRA equipped vehicles on track.
As far as your breakage question is concerned, we have MANY customers running well North of 600 RWHP with our kit on factory halfshafts with no issues. In my "Mystery of the IRS" article found here:
I firmly believe more halfshafts have been broken due to the flopping of IRS components mounted in rubber, than broken because of sheer power. This also applies to rear cover leakage and breakage as well.
I hope that answers your questions.

When I see guys like you putting down the kind of power you guys put down it gives me the willies to think you are doing that on a rubber or poly bushed IRS!!
I guarantee you will be impressed with the kit. I have a customer with a KB putting down over 600 RWHP and he told me our IRS bushing kit is his favorite mod to the car!

Chris:
With the exception of our supplier issue for the rod ends for the sway bar end links, we have not been out of stock on anything for almost a year now. We carry a larger inventory so we don't get caught short.
EVERYTHING is in stock for immediate shipment. If you use the Pay-Pal shopping cart on our site:

Before I installed Bruces bushing kit I would hop all over the road during mid to full acceleration in 1st and 2nd. It sounded HORRIBLE! After installing the kit this dreadful feeling and sound is no more. Not only did it completely get rid of the wheel hop it also improved the feel of the car. Quite noticeably too. Makes me glad I made the purchase.
Also both Bruce and Steve guided me through every problem I had. These guys are very patient as well. Didnt make me feel like a dumbass when id ask some simple questions. As soon as an email was sent, I recieved one back within the hour, usually within 20 minutes, which just shows how much they stand by this product. I HIGHLY recomend this product to any cobra owner seeking a better feel for their car.
Thanks again Bruce and Steve!

hey so how much is this kit i`ve been reading about & do i need a ADJ. swaybar links & bumpsteer kit
i live in nashville tn 374214 thanks
i`m wanting to get this kit & install it & all my other irs parts @ the same time
can ya PM it to me thanks !!!
The adjustable sway bar end links are only critical for cars on coil-overs. They are a lot easier to work with than the OEM parts. The bumpsteer and upgraded toe link kit should be put on cars that are lowered and have high RWHP. Information on these items and everything else in the kit can be found in the FAQ listed below.
Here is our canned payment speech:
$595 gets you the complete IRS bushing package that comes with seven pages of very comprehensive installation instructions. Along with the instructions you have the install photos page on our web site to reference as well:
Over the years I have complied a LOT of information there.
After reading that you will understand I recommend getting the removal tools to make the job a lot easier. The $70 for the tools is fully refundable upon their return.
The front subframe bolts are another item you might want to get if you don't have them already.
You will also see that I DON'T recommend L-5 halfshafts. The factory halfshafts, once all of the OEM factory rubber has been removed, have proven to be good well beyond 600 RWHP.
The IRS informational article is another source of information you may be interested in:
You can use the shopping cart and pay via Pay-Pal or credit card. The total with freight is automatically calculated in the shopping cart. Orders are shipped the same day if received before Noon.
If you're not in a hurry and you want to save 5%, at the bottom of the page there is an order form that can be filled out on line and then printed. Must be mailed in with a check or money order though. Personal checks will be held a week.
We are currently out of stock on the sway bar end links and hope to have them back in stock soon.
If after reading all of that you still have questions, I'd be glad to answer them for you.
Thank you for your interest in Full Tilt Boogie Racing products.
Hope to have mine soon!!! Definitely worth reading the mystery of the IRS!!!
Eric:
After our joint venture, you're getting the full hook-up brother!

$ 754.oo gets me all the bushings & the bumpsteer kit right ???
i need it cause my cobra is lower on H & R super sports springs
i also seen part about the front diff brace`s should i buy the "kenny brown" brace ( i`ve been thinking about doing it anyway)
Correct, $754 gets you the basic bushing package and the bumpsteer kit. (plus freight of course) However, if you don't have the upgraded front subframe bolts I recommend them as well. Also the removal tools, which by the way, are fully refundable when you return them, make the job infinitely easier.
I have a VERY gently used Kenny Brown front differential brace I can sell you for $90 if you want a bushing package.
