as awesome as batman and ironman are...they're just people with a bunch of $ and extremely badass toys. the punisher is just hard ass.
superman is the ultimate superhero. has every superpower you can think of yet doesn't look like a mutant.

as for the comment above about being paid....im not a soldier or police officer nor a firefighter but i respect them as hero's who go above and beyond what a normal day to day person would face. they deserve your respect as much as the fictional characters above.

Of course soldiers, firemen, etc are real heroes. I dont think this thread was talking about real life heros, but more fictional heros.
He never said he didnt respect them. Ask the people who work in those fields 99% of them will be modest, they say they love it, they chose it etc. They did choose to put themselves in a line of work that is dangerous, just in the same manner I chose to become an engineer, on our own will. I respect them and do feel that they are heros but do not be so narrow minded that you put down another mans opinion just because you dont see eye to eye. He could easily make a valid argument on his views.
But back on topic cry babies... I chose the Punisher, my favorite out of the few listed.
My idea of REAL heroes...
I voted Superman, but my son (he is 5) who loves superheroes recently told me that "You know there are real superheroes in this world...Colby, because he's a soldier and he's a good guy and he has a gun and he fights bad guys."
Colby is my brother in law and is a marine, I thought that was pretty darn cool though and Colby did too.
