You clearly haven't spent much time on Youtube. There is a ton of viable, professionally produced entertainment. I'm getting up there in age but it's funny watching old guys complain about all of the same things they made fun of their parents for getting wrong.
Slow your roll, I never said EVERYONE ON YOUTUBE. I'm obviously talking about the youngster nonsense that has no real value.

Define real value in entertainment. What "real value" does Marvel's Agents Of Shield or Modern Family hold?

I'm technically a millenial and I resent that. 32 here. Can't stand those hipsters. I'm a conservative, (you get out of life what you put in) nObama, Hillary "socialist" despising as you get. And I'm in the oil patch.
I have two girls and they will seek real men when old enough. They'll know no else.

LOL really? Let me know when these Youtube sensations become Iron Man on the big screen.

Considering Fred has now had three movie deals....

Good thread.... Has anyone stated what counts as modding a car and what doesn't?

The trend I see is that most people think swapping wheels, CAI, wing, splitter, etc counts them as a 'builder.' Our local Cars and Coffee has a very wide range of LOLs. There is a lot of true talent and workmanship, but there is also a lot of complete garbage. I still have a hard time saying 'cold air intake.' It's a f'ing tube--nothing more. :D Now get off my lawn! (I'm 33, so I guess I'm a millennial. Can I still be a grumpy old man?)

I guess technically anything you change on a vehicle is a "modification". So the use of the word is correct, but that annoys me too. One guy I watch on YouTube says hes doing a "New mod to the duramax" and all he did was take the chevy badges off.

I am 19 and own a '99 GT that is my pride & joy. My project car is a '69 Ranchero SBF. My friends and I are all serious about cars, but hardly any of us can afford to do anything or even buy a nice car. We enjoy turning wrenches and BS'ing like anyone else, but it's tough to have fun when everyone has cheap and boring cars.

You're 19. You aren't supposed to be rich yet. You are just now starting life.

Both of those sound like nice cars to me. I would kill to have an old project car like that. I think you will find that most of the people your age who can afford "nicer" cars probably have a large portion of their expenses paid for by their parents.

I know a few people my age who have nicer/newer cars than I, but don't have the expenses/responsibilities I have.

Focus on learning a skilled trade or school and it will all fall in place in time.

This last sentence is key. I was halfway through college when I lost interest and wanted to become Dominic Toretto with the street racing. So I stopped going to school, and LUCKILY I got a job in the automotive field, otherwise I would have been ****ed. Wish I had stayed in college and just drove my paid off 350 I had, I'd be in a cushy engineering job making three times what I do. STAY IN SCHOOL

Kinda like me. Although I get paid less than I should, I have an ultra cushy salary job. I'm the only engineer here, and spend 7 out of 10 hours minimum surfing the internet 95% of the time.

I spend a lot of time on the internet, also, but its researching new builds / what people are doing / etc, so 'fun' stuff :) hahaha

I wish I did autocad though, I loved doing that shit in college, and was so relaxing. I designed an entire neighborhood from scratch, with sidewalk lines, etc etc
