anyone in the sacramento california area know of a good rear diff shop? trying to get the 373's in but cant find a good shop. everyones charging like 5-7 hundred dollars. is this like the going rate?

I would say 500 is the going rate. 700 seems really steep to me. Good luck!

Nope, $500 is not the going rate to install gears.

Average is $200-250...and anything above that is high.

We have a local buddy of ours who is a Ford service tech.

He's been doing installs for most of the local stang people here in SoCal for the past 10+ years and only charges us $150

If you can drive down, I'll let ya know how to get in contact with him.

gears are easy guys...get a haynes manual it walks you through it step for step...i know a lot of people talk about shimming them and all that other shit and i know how to shim gears and i have done it before but recently i have just been putting them back in with stock shims...as long as you don't change out carriers and are using ford motorsport gears there won't be enough of a difference to throw them off...i have done about six stangs like this in the past few months and am doing one sometime this week as well when the guy gets em
