I've had the annoying rear seal leak since I purchased this car back in Jan 2024.
I finally got around to pulling it apart to fix it. Unfortunately the oil leak has been so bad it has contaminated by clutch and flywheel.
So I have a new billet flywheel on the way, picked up a deal on a SPEC...
Agreed with above.
I ran the Quick6 controller and had issues. I sent it back to them for the software upgrade and it still had issues.
Basically on regular driving it was fine.
Under load/boost it failed to shift at the commanded rpm. After a lot of trial and error, I had to tell it basically...

2003 Mach 1
Iron block, steel crank, Billet Oliver rods, Diamond pistons, ported stock heads, L+M camshafts, VMP Gen2 2.3 supercharger, E85 with a T56 magnum.
790rwhp and 720 rwtq
Best pass so far 6.80's @ 108mph in 1/8th, and 10.47 @ 136mph with bad sixty foot times. Expect mid 6's...
Thanks! It's been a long-term project that is truly one of my most fun builds to drive!
So update on the Mach -
I tried to run one of my new Continental belts. It did fine for initial test drive.
However after my 2nd outing it started to squeak, which I mistook for a pulley bearing after the...
With the 2.7 upper and 6# lower I saw 26# on initial hit. However it was dropping entire run and on my last pass, it was down to about 16# in 4th gear when I got over 6,000 rpms, I shift it around 6,500.
I have the Gates Fleet (green) belt on it now and may give it a try. In my experience it...
What's your opinion on belt type I should use?
For years I have run Goodyear Gatorback, Continental, and Gates Fleet (Green) belts.
My recent track outing was with the Gatorback belt.
I've already got a new upper pulley for the VMP - went from 2.7 to a 2.9 to slow it down some.
I also have a 4#...
Thanks! I'd like to try those to see how the car responds. I think these Hoosiers are old and just not the best choice at the track with this car. With an auto they might be better. I ordered a larger upper pulley from griptec (2.9 compared to my 2.7) to slow the blower down some and give a...
1st time with this car at the track.
Not very good launches (best was in the 1.80's) but did run 6.80's in 1/8th at 108 and 10.40's in 1/4 @ 138.
Shredded a belt at 1,000 foot on the last pass and destroyed my upper pulley.
I believe I'm overspinning the 2.3 which is the culprit. You can...
Agreed. It's amazing how jaded you become riding in faster cars by today's standards compared to what was "fast" in the late 1980's! It's the only car I own that I can flat-foot the throttle and be in complete control without any fear of spinning the tires. LOL.
Recently put my 1987 Fox on E85 and dyno'd it.
Made 231hp and 275tq with 18* initial timing, Autolite 24 plugs, 27# injectors (out of an old 2006 mustang GT project), and 190lph fuel pump. It also has the A9L computer.
Mods to the car are cobra intake, 70mm t/b, Pro-M 75mm mass air, shorty...
About 10 years ago I stopped going to car shows. Between the kids/adults rubbing up against, touching car, trying to lean into window, underhood, etc it became more stressful for me than fun.
Plus there's always the hilarious part of listening to people tell their buddies about my car/mods and...
