I have a 2013 Shelby GT500 with the Performance Package. The problem is that it's "stuck" in Sport mode.

I just broke in a new Moser M88 with 3.55 gears. First drive should be approximately 10 miles at normal operating speed, accelerating and decelerating several times conservatively, then let differential cool completely. Next drive 20-25 miles under the same conditions, then let cool...

    Goals 750-800 rwhp

And press fit of the hub assembly to the crankshaft is vital to transfer harmonics to the damper assembly. Hub bores may require honing... and that is where I check out on self installation.

    Goals 750-800 rwhp

And rightfully so... images of past threads about crank relearns, random misfires, broken cranks, and loosening balancers come to mind. Bottom line: it needs to be installed correctly. You know me and my confidence in my wrenching abilities, but I will NOT be installing the new aftermarket...

    Goals 750-800 rwhp

If you were planning to install an aftermarket balancer anyway, it makes perfect sense. I am looking to install a stock diameter ATI balancer on my 2008 due to age, and I don't need more boost on pump gas.

    Check Engine light Update

When you say radiator, do you mean coolant reservoir attached to the radiator? The OEM Gold coolant breaks down over time and does leave residue that sort of looks like mud in the reservoir. If you truly had a coolant temp problem, your coolant temp guage would have crept up to the red, and I...

Moser Engineering M88 installation and other winter mods

I have put 500 miles on this new setup and have been able to do some WOT testing with my car. I did re-install the OEM rear axle dampers to see if that would tone down the gear whine a little; even though it didn't affect the whine, it did deaden random axle noise, so they are staying on...

    Check engine light

I don't disagree. I know what pinging sounds like, and I would get off the gas pedal if I heard it. I was south of Fresno, CA when I first installed my 725HP FR/Whipple kit with ProCal tune. I would get mild to moderate pinging at WOT with fresh top tier 91 octane. Thankfully, I re-located...

    Check engine light

When my engine needs to be rebuilt, I am doing it ONCE, all in the right way for my application. JDM Engineering will be handling my build and tuning; I am very fortunate that they are within driving distance from my home. If I were to hurt the engine a second time, I would be parting out and...

    Check engine light

You should be monitoring AFR among other vital systems. AeroForce Interceptor with a wideband O2 sensor is one monitoring solution. You can record a WOT run and playback, so you don't have to stare at the guage at full throttle.

    Check engine light

Could be a coil pack not fully seated on the plug, loose spark plug blowout (unlikely), or loose coil pack connector if not reinstalled correctly. I take my time and pay close attention to detail when replacing my spark plugs. Check electrical and vacuum connections on your CAI and anything...

    Broken Drive Shaft

If switching to an aluminum driveshaft, you should install a safety loop: Free Shipping on all BMR Suspension packages! Do verify your pinion/driveline angle while the driveshaft is removed. It is easier to measure on the flat transmission output flange and rear pinion flange surfaces. I...

Boss just picked up an ‘08 GT500

The stock air box might be a restriction. With an original JLT 113mm or newer 123mm Cold Air Intake, I could see it making 544ish with similar torque, as stated above. That was a fun combo back in my car's early years, and the torque hit and blower whine was cool!

    H&R sport springs?

H&R Sport springs are a great option for lowering while providing a good balance between comfort and performance. The springs are not harsh, but travel is obviously decreased with 1" lowering springs by design. I installed Bilstein HD struts and shocks, and coupled with my H&R Sport springs...

Any input on JDM Engineering and/or L&M for engine builder near PA

I have been around long enough to remember what you went through, and I have seen a couple of other L&M engines eat themselves. For that kind of money and no warranty on a "race engine".... needless to say they are NOT on my very short list of potential engine builders.
