I'm swapping in an auto into the mutt, and part of the deal is I'm re-wiring both harnesses.
I read the write up on MF, but I can't figure out the wiring for the auto to t56 side of the deal.
I've got a chance to go with either, and the prices are about the same. Whic is going to be a better deal? I lose an AIT sensor by going with the mach computer, but I don't know a whole lot about the stand alone set up's.
So, simply put, which is a better option, in your opinion SVTP?
Light one that they make, 11lbs I think. Has a brand new $100 insert that comes with it.

I've found a local 5r55 in great condition locally and I'm thinking of trying a swap into my car. Anyone ever even tried this? It looks like a complete rebuild kit, input and output shafts are only around $1000.

Yesterday a guy sent me a PM asking if I was interested in a trade for his 87 grand National (one of my all time favorite cars BTW). 4.1 block, 77mm turbo, complete fuel system, built 9" rear, built 400 trans with trans brake, wilwood discs all around. Runs mid 10's on pump gas.
Quick rundown...
My complete t56 with 25-30k, mgw orange handle, spec3 w/spec aluminum fly wheel.
Want a complete 4r70w or 4r75w with at least an aftermarket valvebody and/or torque converter.

I'm over 500ft-lb from 2800 to 6200. This was after 10+ pulls sorting the AF out, very little cool down time and terrible 90+% humidity here today. In the morning I'm gonna pull the LFP SBTB and try to fix the sticking blade and we'll make a few more pulls while it's cool...
I recently upgraded the mutt with a Mach1 SRA and KB 2.4, 60# injectors, BA3000 along with the snow meth kit which I've had. The car has a spec 3, and I'm guessing stock input (clutch was in when I bought the car). The 8.8 still has the stock 28 spline shafts, BUT it's been welded and braced...
This is the only part I need to finish my SRA swap. It's a V8 car only part, it bolts to the body near the control arm with 2 10mm bolts. I can get it from Ford, but it's a 3-4 day wait and $25.
