that could def be true. A true societal collapse would mean food/water/shelter/ammo/guns are the top priority.
I dont see why anyone would accept cash tho, unless I'm misunderstanding what a true SHTF scenario means exactly.
Investors were locked in with GBTC and couldn't sell for years, and grayscale's fees were outrageous during this time (and still are)....so once the ETFs went live, they were allowed to unlock/sell....and about 50% of them did so since January (600k btc in january vs 290k btc today).
And now...
no, my app is a different product idea i have...could potentially accept BTC as payment for using the app or something, but it's not a crypto app.
It may not even get off the ground, have a few calls next week with different attorneys to check potential liability issues...wanted to check that...
I'm looking for an app developer to help me create an app.
If there is anyone here that regularly does this kind of work, please PM me.
Also, any attorneys here familiar with app liability issues, PM me.
Thank you
it's still a pretty niche market so finding someone who is willing/knowledgeable enough to accept Bitcoin is few and far between right now.
worth asking tho, let us know how that ends up working out
idk brother...to me, it's easy to create a new address and continue on with peer to peer transactions. If you read up on what happened in Canada with the trucker protest, you'll notice that Bitcoin performed infinitely better than the traditional finance options when it comes to...
Hubris on my part however the mocking was mostly centered around...
"don't invest in the one asset with the best properties b/c the USSA will ban it"
In reality, I'm not sure it will matter ban vs no ban since it's a global network.
I do find the freedom infringement disgusting.
no source on the 80% but it seems like the main thing that shook your faith here was a tyrannical govt banning banks accounts and bitcoin addresses.
this is normal life for bad govts, it is what most govts will do and it actually doesn't impact your bitcoin at all since you can create 100 new...
You'd have to post that source again, I dont think 81% is Institutionally owned.
However, ownership doesn't control the protocol...it will make life harder for people who dont already self-custody.
