Spring rate for 12 inch front coil overs on a 3000ish lb car no driver

Although you are using spring rate to achieve a specific ride height, they are totally separate functions. The compression rate and ride are spring rate results. Ride height is the length of the spring and or spacers. If your coil overs are adjustable use that for rebound and compression in...

Coyote swap, remote mount oil filter?

Will a short filter solve the issue? The Coyote installs on Cobra kit cars, require the short filter. I had to remove the sandwich oil cooler that came on my Aluminator crate engine. I do not have the short filter part number, but it comes in most common brands.

    Gen 1 Aluminator ?

With the compression ratio and lack of hood space, a supercharger is not feasible. I do envy those push rod engines low end tq. I would have to do rolling starts to not get blistered by those stroker small blocks.

    Boostane shots

Read the label on VP Octanium and see what you think. No experience, whether it leaves the orange frost. I run it in all my 93 octane tunes. On engines that have knock sensors, it prevents knock that pulls ignition timing. VP makes some premium canned fuel, I would think their additives...

    Gen 1 Aluminator ?

I put a new crate engine, Gen 1 Aluminator in a F5 Cobra kit. I put a Lund tune in the car, after driving, data logging and sending the info to Lund. The car runs OK, but has very weak throttle tip in performance. The engine is soft until 2800 to 3000 rpm. It then smooths out and runs very...

While sitting in the waiting room, as my wife was having cataract surgery. I decided to try the coffee machine for a cup. It took credit card only and was Star Bucks brand. What the heck, I needed some coffee. No receipt and the coffee was dirt strong. When the credit card bill came, $22.00...

They had an anniversary event at Barber Motorsports. I got an invite to bring some cars, but could not fit, getting them ready and showing up, in the schedule. I was hoping some pics would show up, but so far, 0. I feel sure, Ford had some reps there, and able to answer some questions. Now I...

    Engine bay cleaning / detailing

I use Tire and Wheel cleaner for Alum rims. It does not fuzz up alum parts and is gentle on painted surfaces. After drying spray with Honda Spray and Shine. It is designed to be safe on all motorcycle surfaces, which includes rubber, paint, chome, alum, etc. You can wipe it down or let it...

    Happy 27th!!!!’yoi don’t look a day older than 21

25 YEARS Bought new, using X plan, I think it was $25K. Put the KB on it somewhere around 2001. Alum flywheel, driveshaft, 3.73 gears, Tri Ax shifter. It made 445 whp on a heart breaker dyno. I ran the KB tune and got talked into trying a Lund tune. No improvement. Both ran good. Projected HP...

Lake Bonneville and The Great Salt Lake

While on a vacationing, road trip with another couple, we stopped at a Quik Mart. The sign at the corner said, Bonneville Salt Flats Track or something like that. I was the only one interested and the others agreed to make the short turn, so I could say, I have been there. As we read the history...

I think Goodyear is about the only U.S. made trailer tire available. I just spent $811 on a set of 4. My regular tire guy, screwed me, last set of tires he will sell me. He did not balance tires and told me they were balanced. Old weights still on the back of the rims. He normally mounts...
