Ok I own both cars and they are completely different animals. I've owned my Pantera for over 30 years and its heavily modified with an aluminum 427 cleveland with hilborns etc and I've had the R about 12 years....truthfully I'll take the Pantera any day over the R just for the wow factor...
Just got done reading this thread and cracking up that almost everyone was wrong except the part for under 100k. The upcoming 2025 Mustang GTD is the new Cobra R and then some.
It does not have any of the Selco stickers, the number or the SCCA decals but all of the others are still on it if you look at the original post on the first page it shows what the car currently looks like
I would love to find #300 as well as I have the sister car to it #85. They were both raced in T1 in Norcal. Mine was by Garland Self under Selco Heating and Air who I have tried calling to no avail. Both were prepared exactly the same....same roll cage, diff cooler etc...I have one pic of both...
I have a 2000R that was/is a track car/street car has a cage and diff cooler and bassani exhaust and I also have all the stock parts including exhaust and interior pieces, seat belts etc... It is in very good condition with about 5000 miles on it. 2 of these were set up for class racing and...
Hi My car #2163 was produced on July 6th but has not been updated since. It seems most cars are released 2 days after they are produced is there a way to find out if there is a delay?
I realize the factory is shut down but anyway to find out vin# 2163 where it stands? I received the vin on Feb 17th with a build date the week of April 20th and that's the last I've heard anything on it. Rapid Red CFTP all options.
Update: Ok I was able to track down Selco Heating and Air in San Jose which is 30 minutes from me and guess who the owner is...yes its Garland Self so now I am going to try and call and see if he will talk to me at all about the car. 98 Saleen I hope he's not as bad as you say he was at least...
After looking in my SCCA log book mine was the #27 car raced under the Selco Heating and Air and driven by someone named Garland last name begins with an S but that's all I can make out. I believe the #11 car ended up winning the T1 championship in 2001. One of the pictures I have shows my car...
Sorry I haven't checked in here for a couple weeks. Yes I do have the SCCA logbook as well as the roll bar sticker but unfortunately no pics of it racing. I will check with SCCA and see if they have any info. thanks for the replies
They closed up shop about 8 years ago I heard they were one of Fords casualties from the dealer downsizing. Too bad as I am in Pleasanton Ca and they were only about 45 minutes from my house in Los Gatos
The #81 car is already mine and I have owned it for about 5 years now. I'm the 3rd owner I believe. I bought the car with the intention to race it but when i got it decided it was to nice to take the chance of crashing it. Just interested to find out some more history on it
Hi does anyone have any info on my 2000 Cobra R #081. according to the SCCA log book it was used in a few races and I believe it was run under the Swanson Ford name along with its sister car #300 in the T1 class. I would like to know a little more history on it (who built them) as well as...
New to the forum and looking to buy a 2000 Cobra R stock exhaust for my 2000R from the cats back. This is for R number 081 that currently has the Bassani system on it but would really like to put it back to stock. I will pay top dollar for a Borla system or trade plus cash the Bassani system
