I just got back from the Multimatic MK IV delivery / track day at COTA and I'm still grinning from ear to ear. Driving the MK IV for my first time today, I set - shattered, really - the COTA GT car lap record by 1.5 2 seconds! The MK IV is superlative - friendly, communicative, and absolutely...
765 was competently driven and on slicks. It was a surprisingly even match - the 765 was of course faster on the straights, the GT4 was quicker in the corners and, to a lesser extent, braking. We ended up running lap times less than 0.5s apart.
800HP. Light. More downforce. Updated chassis & sequential trans. Said to be faster than a full-on GTLM car, without the special tires.
Oh, and drop-dead gorgeous. What a swan song for the GT!

Should be good for 1:25s at Laguna Seca - lower, if they can get me a derestricted version...
Took the Mustang to Sonoma Raceway today. Ran with a group of exotic cars (McLarens, Porsche GT3 Cup, etc.) Set what appears to be the lap record for a Mustang at Sonoma. Car ran perfectly all day.
Good times.
I think you guys will like this one. 60F weather, fresh tires, and a dialed-in setup made for one very speedy Mustang at Laguna Seca yesterday.
The pass on the 911 GT3 Cup was just icing on the cake :)
Had a great stint at Buttonwillow today chasing a Lamborghini Super Trofeo around the track, and through some traffic which provided context for just how fast we were going. Both cars turned 1:46 laps (mine was a 1:46.28 on the MoTec) and great fun was had.
Enjoy!
I spent Black Friday at Laguna Seca for the NorCal Shelby Club track day. Lots of Mustang GT350s, but also everything from Vipers to a McLaren 570 to Corvettes. It rained off and on during the track day, but here was a nice dry session with only moderate traffic.
(note as usual, I need part...
Had a fun Saturday at Buttonwillow with American Muscle Cup. It was beastly hot, but the GT4 ran without a hitch and eventually it was the driver rather than the car which had heat soak :)
Enjoy!
Visited buttonwillow racetrack today in the GT4. Took the first session to try to learn the track (haven't driven there since 2001). Second session was a time attack round. Laps weren't nearly perfect, but they were still quick enough to win outright fastest lap of the day.
Forget all that...
Local Shelby club had a black Friday "Turkey Bowl" track event at Laguna Seca. It rained the entire day. No matter - the Mustang on Michelin P2Ls was unflappable through wet corners, streams across the apex, and mud in T9. I ended up turning in a pair of 1:42.0 laps despite the usual T5-T6 wait...
I've been experimenting with assembling panoramas. This one turned out well.
I tried uploading the full-size pic to a few photo hosting sites, but it crashes every one I've tried :D Thus you'll have to download the JPEG to view the full-size image...
