Glad you found the issue. You're not the first person this caught out, and won't be the last.
For those who may find this in the future, you don't need to pull the timing cover to check for the presence or correctness of the crankshaft reluctor wheel. You can simply remove the crankshaft...
TMI sells a seat foam kit that will fit on GT seat frames from 01 and up cars and allow the use of their skins. They're usually really cheap from a junkyard if you are interested in that route.
Unless they've been updated, Walbro 255's are not E85 compatible. The pumps will prematurely die. While they do live, I would be surprised if they supported beyond maybe 750whp.
I suspect you'd max out the injectors around 850whp.
This is the way. Add a shifter of your liking to the list and you'll be set on the mods.
I wouldn't mess with the seals on the engine unless you were experiencing leaks. Don't waste money on control arms for a cruiser. Replace bushings and ball-joints as needed. Sway-bars are unnecessary...
Any change in headroom with these, for better or worse?
6'4" tall guy problems, here. I've had side mounted, fixed back seats sunk virtually to the floor for years now to get more headroom but I'm getting tired of climbing in and out of so much bolstering.
I can't answer whether the backspace will work for you but 1994-2004 cars were all 5x4.5.
I have an original spare that has been collecting dust forever. I'm even close to you - I'm up in Bloomington. If you're inclined to come and get it you're welcome to have it.
Curious what the deal is with the bar running under the gas tank.
Interesting car. Color is neat, but I don't think I would have bought it if offered on the SN95.
I've long thought this, nice to know I'm not the only one. The rarity of them is neat but I just can't get over how low they...
Have any details on the crank stud? Are there kits available for this?
Probably 10 years ago a cheap install tool pulled the first 2 threads out of my crank, and I had to buy a better install tool and modify it to get the damper on ever since. Always makes me uncomfortable.
My experience, you'll notice the size/weight difference under braking more than anything else.
Same tires, comparably sized, I've never noticed any traction differences between 17s and 18s. The boost ramp isn't super aggressive on the tune I typically run around on, though.
