[QUOTE="pufferfish, post: 14221885, member: 153725"] the lockouts just mean there is no adjustment in the valve timing events to be able to have great low end torque and high end power. you will just have high end power. you will not lose the engine braking, as its more a function of throttle blade than anything else. that function is all in the tune. request it of adam when he tunes it. my car was the first he did it on and it works fantastically. as a single purpose engine, you will not miss the ViVCT and might like the predictability better. they can be notchy and deliver less than smooth changes, which result in the "v-tec" feeling of getting to a certain rpm and getting a surge of power. here's a thought for you though. adam can tune comp stage 3 cams with full ViVCT. there is no reason he couldn't tune these custom cams with the cam timing function as well, but he should also be able to tune it to virtually lock the cam phasers. the MMR cam sprockets have adjustment. I am sure they won't be a bolt-in and go. the cam cover will need to be pulled to make any changes as the engine is tuned. that may be a lot of time added to your dyno day...or week at that point. i watched adam tune my car ALL DAY and he went through the phaser timing in small increments to get optimal power. he is either going to limit the increment resolution to minimize the time spent or go off a spec sheet provided by MMR to preset the sprocket adjustment once and just maximize the other areas of the tune. i would ask adam what he thinks is best.
