so, it is safe to say that the 13' GT500 is no longer being built as a direct competitor against the ZL1. Why would they even consider it given this car is pushing well over 600rwhp stock. It seems that ford has it's eyes set on the Z06 or even the ZR1 (IMO more towards the latter) with this shelby. On that, can anyone think of another car for less than $60,000 that can yield 600rwhp or more? How about under $100K? This car right now if very impressive and not because of the power its making... its really should be nothing new to anyone on here... big blower shelby's have been making big power on here forever now but because of the MSRP it's been sold at. The new engine is nice but when you consider all the upgrades from 2012 to 2013 and it still listed at the same price you see how just how banana's this car really is. In reality, you are buying a SUPER SNAKE (700hp++) for the price of a GT500. It's quite remarkable even if ford is taking a hit just to sell it under $60K. Seems like ford is setting itself up for another "cobra" to fill the gap since the shelby is not being built to compete against the ZL1. Perhaps a TVS 5.0 weighing in around 3500-3600lbs. would be what we should all be looking out for. Great times to love american modern muscle... yeah they are getting more expensive (except for the shelby!) but the cars are more refined and faster in stock trim.
