On the plus side.....my A6 handles great, is very comfortable, gets decent fuel economy, roomy, looks good, cheap to insure, is decently fast for what it is. On the negative side. IF you don't know where to look parts can get a bit pricey. Mods are retarded expensive unless you have a hook up or can do the work yourself- (for my 4.2 the TS SC kit starts at $12k, the TT kit is 8k). We have done 90% of the work ourselves on our car. Stealership prices usually start at 110+ per hr for LABOR. So spending a day in a garage is well worth it for basic stuff like brakes, exhaust, plugs etc..... If you maintain the car properly and ensure you use quality products it's no problem. My car is now completely sorted. Since replacing the stock exhaust, brakes and suspension it's a lot lighter and got a slight bump in HP, it gets better fuel economy and the drilled slotted brakes stops it on a dime. Will it out perform a Z06 or even an M3 for that matter- no way. But I'd rather go on a road trip or a long drive in it over any of those cars to include any stangs I've owned. It performs in ALL weather conditions due to AWD. So IMO if you can find one that is cared for, not beat on or neglected. Go for it. If it's from some punk late teens kid who got their dads S4 as a hand me down I'd avoid it like the plague because it's probably been beat on. That's my .02 and experience. Not gonna lie- if something major goes wrong it WILL cost you. But if you do some research and can do some/all the work yourself it's all good.
