I read somewhere that the production for any given model year ends in August of that year. Mine has manufacturing date of 08/01. Could it be one of the last ones produced?

No i just am resurecting it from 7year hibernation after an attempted timing chain replacement. Haven't got any additional documentation other than the title and owners manual.

even with the svt certificate i think it would be hard to actually determine "the last one," because - at least for terminators - the svt #'s/build dates do not always directly correspond with the last 6 of the vin #.

in my documentation of comp orange cobras there are several examples of cars with higher or lower svt #'s than the accompanying vin #'s, and vice-versa. usually they do match up, but i always thought it was odd when they don't.

maybe someone familiar with ford's process can shed some light on why that is (?)

and i guess the question would be do you go by the vin or the cert to determine the last cobra built for any model year?

Same thing with the Bullitts, the certificates are not in the order built, I only assume that the VIN numbers would be conservative
