It is my first S197 car. I did order one just after Ford started taking orders for the car (~2005?). I ordered it from a Ford dealer that I had done business with for many years (having bought 9 cars/trucks). They never called me. I later called them a few times requesting information on the arrival of the car, and no one would ever return any of my calls. IMO, the car came in, and they sold it to someone else (for a premium to what my deal was). It's an obvious conclusion that I will never order (and then buy) another car or truck from them. I can't imagine why someone would forgo a long-term relationship with a customer over a small one-time profit. Nonetheless, it worked out to my benefit. I found a low mileage car that was exactly as I ordered one-- but for $4,500 less money. It's a great road car. It's comfortable, has a nice ride (important in my middle age :-D ), has the usual Mustang low-cost of maintenance, is reasonably quick, and is very well engineered and assembled. I find it to be the best grand touring car for the money. I do not think that is unusual. Most of the car guys that I know are brand-loyal; they simply stick with their one brand. The Corvette racers that I know concentrate on GM products. They have a Corvette race car, a couple of Corvette street cars, and have GM support vehicles (GM tow truck and the wife has a Solice, or a GM SUV, or whatever). It's unusual to see them shopping for any Ford product. The Porsche guys are no different. They wouldn't be caught dead in a Mustang or a Corvette. They race a Porsche and have a few other Porsches in their warehouse: Have you ever seen a Ferrari guy drive a Mustang to his annual Concours D'Elegance? :poke: Some of us are in the minority. We seek to stick our butt in every fast car that we can find (and afford; no wine sipping Concours for me). I don't know a thing about the Mormon faith, but I am curious about that multiple wife thing. ;-) Why stay with just one wife when you could have nine or ten? [Don't quote me, or I'll suffer from a old fashion homemade whopping :bash: ] I did make an offer on this car. It could be the first foreign car that I've ever owned. :dw:
