[QUOTE="XP900, post: 17029227, member: 199546"] On my 2010 Gt500 I still use the stock tires sizes and the fronts are 255/40ZR19. Michelin makes TWO versions of this tire as listed below. The first one is the one specified by Ford (as it has FOR in its title description. The second one listed is a generic one that Michelin makes. I asked Michelin to explain the differences and one of their designers eventually got back to me. He said there is no structural difference other than the fact that Ford wants an insignia on the sidewall (where or what it is I didn't notice it) and they specified a thread depth of only 8.5/32 versus their generic version which has 9.5/32. The generic is also 1/2 lb heavier (extra tread and ??). Price wise the generic version is about $36 cheaper per tire. To my eye it also seemed like the rim guard was more pronounced but I don't have an old mounted Ford version to compare it to. Costco sells the generic version and Summit did at one time too although they were always out of stock with a pushed out delivery date. Below are the tires specifications along with a picture of the rim guard on my generic tires. If you have this size on your car see if the rim guard sticks out the same as the Ford version. On the generic tire the rubber lip is just a hair over 1/4" past the outer edge of the rim.
