About what happened out on the left coast with the cop?? I think that its 'always the cops fault' crap is bullshit........I now, wouldn't want to put up with what 'street' cops put up with everyday!

I agree that this mentality that the officer is always guilty and is at fault is bullshit. I see it all the time on the Federal level too and it sucks.

That video is only a small glimpse of what occurred that day. It doesnt show the "perp" going off on the officer, like is witnessed to. It doesnt show that perp resisting arrest, like was witnessed. It doesnt show that the perp with his hands cuffed behind his back didnt have the arresting officers balls in his hands at the time and the officer needed to get him off.

What that tape doesnt show is a lot.

The tape is purely one sided and if the kid, who wasnt driving, would have kept his mouth shut, this would be a non incident.

I am not trying to win an argument here but I think something is wrong or something needs to be addressed in the Police Dept.
There has been about 3 to 4 incidents were a Officer has been beating the crap out of someone who is handcuffed. And I dont think it's right to beat someone just because the perp spat on you or pushed you. Thats why Police Officers have so much training in how to deal with people like that.
In the last month I have heard of a Police Officer using his squad car to almost run over a guy who was running from him and broke his two leg's by being hit by the squad car. Another one in (OKC) That was being hit by officer's with night stick's. And then the most recent one about another officer hiting a guy 10-15 time's while the perp was on the ground. I might not know the whole story but I think it is wrong to be handcuffed and get a beating.

Controversial Opinion!!

:burn: Its funny to me that the Perps(Police Officers on tape) are crying about whats not on the tape and that to many people base there opinion on assumptions. I have been written tickets based on assumptions a couple of times as have most people. When writing a ticket most officers are not extremely concerned about the circumstances. ONLY what you get caught doing matters, NOT why!! Seems to me they are just geting back a little bit of that medicine they are so happy to give out. You dont beat a man in handcuffs period!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can tell you, it seems to me that you don't have any clue of what you are talking about:??:

Until you do a thankless job where you risk your life everyday to protect people you have never met, then dont think you even come close to understanding that person or that job. There is no money in the world worth risking your life for unless it is something you feel you should be doing. If you think a cop that writes a summons based on presumption is wrong, then you fight it. A judge only bases his decisions on proof and not innuendo.

If you think a police officer should get back a little bit of his own medicine, that is fine, but not losing his career and his his freedom based on allegations and partial evidence, that exists here.

Also, the Perp wasn't "BEATEN" with handcuffs on, he was hit once. He was hit once so he would let go of the arresting officer's testicles that were in his "CUFFED" hands. He was thrown on the hood of the patrol car because he let his legs go limp while being escorted to the partol car.

Since, the entire scene wasnt taped by the lovely cameraman(with outstanding arrest warrants on him) this film is not proof of anything other than that officers response to his assault by the perp.

But alas, there is a surveillance tape from the gas station close by that caught the "young man" starting the fight with two officers and needing four officers to detain him. His actions are classic of a scumbag perp and the reaction of the officer is perfectly plausible.

And the further proof of the intent on the Perps family is that within four hours of the incident they had hired an Attorney to sue the city, not to defend the kid.

No offense intended

 I guess I got a little carried away. I've just had very few good experiences with police officers. I am not a criminal by the way, I have no record, and I' ve only had one ticket in the past 4 years. I just feel that most police officers(or atleast the ones I've met) in my area have a huge ego problem and always seem like they have something to prove. I just dont think the dangers of the job justify the behavior. If you cant control your temper and cant treat people with respect then in my opinion you shouldnt be a police officer. By the way I dont know the details of the incident in California I was just making a point. So that officer may have been justified in his actions. Thats not for me to decide.
