from what i gathered from FORE, since the FORE diff cover has smaller mass and heats up more than stock diff cover. the diff fluid expands and needs to be released, the tank is pretty much a catch can and when the diff cools down it flows back down in the diff.

when FORE was selling the cover, they original just had a vent tube that would release pressure, but the pressure was more than what the tube could vent, so fluid would shoot out. later in production they sent the tank out to the customers as after purchase solution.

there were a few folks that were asking for how-to's. there were no instructions included or couldnt find any on the website. i don't if what i did is the proper way to install though :) but it worked.

Hi Dickie,
Your installation of the tank is incorrect. It should be behind the trim panel and the additional tube for the vent on the expansion tank should be vented to outside the car.

I was pretty certain that we sent the instructions out to everybody who had the expansion tank.

Anyhow, I attached them here for your reference.

Take care,
Justin
