99-04 hid retrofit help

Hey guys, I’m in the middle of retofitting my protectors but not sure how the proper fitment should be. From what I could find, the mini h1 projectors with mini Gatling gun shorounds don’t have to be cut but mine barely fit even without the shrouds in place. I’m able to fit the shrouds one without cutting if I mount the shrouds first but the back mount doesn’t sit flush at that point.

To anyone that’s completed or bought a set of retrofits, are your shrouds cut at the bottom? Any pics of the mounts on the backside or close ups of the bottom portions of the shrouds would be great.

I retrofitted my headlights with the Mini H1's and the same shrouds. I had to cut the bottom of the shrouds to clear the headlight housing. You cant see anything once they're installed.

As it sits in the pictures. The project sits 4ft from the wall and 24in off the ground. The low part of the step sits 21.75in on the wall and I can lift up on the projector to get it to 22in. It seems as I’ll have to mount it at an angle

I've always seen retrofitters having to trim the bottom of pretty much any shroud to fit in a New Edge housing.
