Just got a 97 Cobra, and the h/u was pretty old and needs replaced. It currently has the mach 460 factory amps unhooked and 2 aftermarket ones installed, 1 for a "10 JL sub and the other for the front and rear speakers. Because of the aftermarket h/u it already has the ford harness there.

Here is my question, according to these two pics what wires should match up. The first is the new harness with the new pioneer DEH-X6900BT. The next is the harness from the current kenwood h/u. I understand the black, red, and yellow wires match up, but what about the 3 wires.

Do you have an adapter harness or did the cut the factory wiring?

It had a ford harness still, I got it figured out. The new deck had one less wire thats what was confusing me. The old deck had 2 wires for powered antenna and amp trigger, where the new deck had one for both.

For future reference this metra kit plugs into the factory Mach 460 connections and the wire colors generally match the head unit colors.

Use this to keep the amp from popping when powered on:

I don't think that's right.

That's the correct harness for the Mach 460 system.

My bad...... I linked to the one I used in my 2004. Crutchfield can give you the correct one if you call them.
