Auto Trans tuning

I started tuning a 98 GT with an auto last night. This is my first foray into tuning an auto. I have LaSota's book to help guide me. But is there any other tips and tweaks I should know about? Any particular tables to stay away from? The car is bone stock except for 3.73 gears. I noticed last night that at part throttle it tended to hang 1st gear until about 3k. Then the 2-3 shift came fairly quick after that. Is that a mix of adjusting the MPH and TP for when to shift?

Thank you. I did manage to find that in some searching. I figured out the issue to at least get it shifting normal again. Hopefully the manual swap will happen this summer so I won't have to worry about it much longer.
