Battery connection question.

Started my car after work tonight (2014 Gt/CS) and it had a hard time starting. Popped the hood when I got home and there was a lot of corrosion on the negative terminal. I took the negative off and cleaned it up. Putting the negative back on there was a light flash from somewhere as I seated it down, there was also a small spark. What may this have been?

It came from the front. Do the lights flash after the battery is reconnected?

Yes the lights flash when the battery is reconnected and you will get a small spark when you reconnect the battery terminal.

Thank you for the reply. Going to need a new battery on my off day this weekend. Started it this am, started better than it did as I left work last night. Still not great though. May get a bit better after I drive to work today and it gets charged a bit more.
