So my car is eating PA performance alternators like it's a job. I only get 3k out of them now. I'm looking at J2 fabrication 200amp alternators.

What's everyone using past 550hp for alternators and is J2 any good. I've gone through 2 PA performance alternators already

I think it has to do more with pulley combos and alternator RPMs versus horsepower. I had mine rebuilt to 170A and added a 3.5” alternator pulley to slow it down and I haven’t had a problem since.

Been having my Nations for almost 2yrs. Has about 10k miles on it. Still charging at 14.3-14.7. Set it that way when i first got it. External regulator is nice to adjust the voltage.

I think I may go to a 3.70 since I haven't touched my crank cage. Any chance at alternator pulley increase size would change my boost? I don't feel like losing power over this haha I'm at 3.50 now

Doubt it, the only thing that effects boost is the ratio between the blower and crank pulley. I just picked up a J2 since my stock one was dropping under 12V around and above 7K rpm. Haven't got it in yet though.

That's what I got. But I think I'm gonna change the pulley now just as a precaution
