I wanted a MAC catback for my Cobra since I had pro dumps on my fox and loved the sound. I didn't really want to wait for the MAC backorder so I decided to go with SpinTech ProStreet catback with MAC O/R Prochamber mid.

I'll get a vid when it's installed, possibly Friday.

I have heard plenty of setups and My Mac 2.5 SS system along an ORX is by far the best Ive ever heard in my opinion. I get compliments every time I take the car out. I ordered the Cb directly from mac, took 25 days to get it to my door. If you have the patience its well worth the wait.

Im ditching the 2.5 Mac system and prochamber. Just comparing the two systems bassani is so much nicer and such better quality then the mac.

Im not saying that i dont get compliments on mac system just not my choice of system

sounds like bassani is the way to go over the Mac... no backorder, better quality, great fitment... however; in terms of sound, i'm still thinking that the Mac is louder and better sounding than the bassani 3". again, i'm going to have to go w/ a catted x pipe so i'm really hoping that someone has a vid of the Bassani 3" catback with a catted x pipe so that i can determine whether it's loud enough for my liking. i love the way it sounds w/ an O/R x pipe, but i really want to kno how it sounds w/ a catted.

^^^^ Trust me, the 3" Bassani is LOUD!!! :D

don't u think that the catted x pipe is going to quiet it down quite a bit tho? I'm planning on going w/ a 3" catted x pipe & 1 3/4" LTs... i'm hoping that will make up for some of the "quietness" that the catted x pipe is going to create.

Been waiting 2 months for my MAC 3" catback. I have the VRS o/r X sitting in my garage. You'll never be able to convince me that the bassani sounds better than this combo. I'll wait as long as it takes to sound this sick...

The UPR X and MAC 3" is an amazing sound. I used to think that nothing could beat the Bassani X and Stingers combo but after hearing that MAC 3" setup a while back, I've fallen in love with that sound too.

OP, If you gotta have cats to pass inspection, Bassani offers a mid pipe that can be switched "in minutes", thier words, not mine. So, you could clamp on the cats while getting inspected, then take them back out, it's an option. But, it is on the pricey side at $555.00. It's on Lethal's site.

I've had this pipe before and while it is great having the option to swap out cats, it is no simple task. It literally is the same as having to swap out a whole complete pipe in my experience. The cats once heated were a PITA to slide on and off the mid pipe. It proved to be a real pain. However, like I said it is nice having the option.

this is why i'm really just lookinig @ going w/ a catted x-pipe to avoid the hassle of having to swap them out each year to pass inspection.

that being said, i am really hoping someone out there with the bassani 3" & a catted x pipe wll post a vid to give me a better idea of how the catted x-pipe & the bassani 3" combo will sound together.

guys,

do any of you know whether the Bassani 3" w/ a 3" kooks catted x pipe & kooks 1 3/4" LTs would sound anything similar to the below vid w/ the Mac 2.5" catback & kooks 3" catted x-pipe & 1 3/4" LTs?

Driving around town in my 03 KB Cobra after gettin - Car Videos on StreetFire

this is ultimately the sound that i am looking for, but again i have decided not to go w/ Mac due to the backorder and quality issues...

do you think that the bassani 3" would sound anything like this with the same LT & catted x-pipe set up?

I ran a MAC 3" with a prochamber and MAC longtubes for about 7 years. Sounded great, fit great, performed great, but 25psi of boost, C16 an E85 took their took toll. I blew out all the baffles and pinholes rusted in the tailpipes where the condensation would puddle.

I now run a 3" Bassani with ARH longtubes and 3" mid and it sounds awesome and performs great. My only complaint is the bassani hangs a bit lower than the MAC did.

Here's the current combo.

Exhaust clip

hey racerat, are you running yours with or without the baffles??

i thought that this thread looked familiar when i started reading it from its most recent post page haha

to answer your question man - i ended up going with the Bassani 3" CB. It is most definitely louder in person than it sounds on youtube videos and it most definitely has a really mean/loud growl to it while cruising/under acceleration; overall, the craftmanship of it was amazing, but with even all this being said i still listen to the MAC 3" CB online sometimes and wish that I had waited until they were no longer on backorder to go w/ one. at the end of the day though, i could not be happier with the Bassani 3" than i am currently. i plan on going to a full 3" setup someday so i don't have to swap it out later on, the quality of it is amazing, and the sound ended up being exactly what i was looking for.

I'm having 3" MAC stainless steel mufflers welded into the Bassani 3" stainless steel catback piping. Best of both worlds.

I guess great minds think alike, I have already looked up the part numbers and plan on doing the same thing!
Just need to order them now.
