Then what is the point in your arguments? You've said so much about the evil of guns, but now you change your tune to say a gun ban won't fix things?

So, if I lock my guns in a safe and properly store them, subsequently having someone steal my safe, entering it using a torch, I should be held accountable for what they do? Yeah, we should definitely punish responsible storage of guns as a roundabout way of banning ownership.:dw:

Are you aware that the U.S. Constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment (i.e., cutting someone's hand off)? I guess while we're modifying it and removing the Second Amendment, we might as well get rid of the Eighth Amendment.

Back to ignoring the mildly retarded troll.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again dummy.... show me where I said that a gun ban is a GOOD thing, or that I support it, or that guns are evil. You can't... That's your problem, pull your head out of your paranoid ass. You think that anyone who questions anything to do with guns is "out to get them." Grow up... It's that kind of paranoia and inability to see anything beyond your own selfish thoughts that makes people afraid to be around you knowing you have a weapon.
People are not afraid of guns .... they are afraid of the retards, like yourself, that own them.... You cannot take anyone questioning them. You through out your 2nd amendment right and then piss all over everyone else's first amendment right... like the 2nd amendment trumps everything.
Once again, go find a post in which I say guns should be banned, or need to be banned or that I'm against them... YOU WON'T. :bash:
It's much easier to ignore anyone playing devil's advocate, then it is to sit down and drum up a solution...
If your guns are stolen... then you didn't store them too responsibly now did ya? and thus you should be held accountable... 100%. Perhaps part of owning a weapon should include having an inbuilt, steel and concrete lined safe, 1 or 2 feet thick, torch, drill, cut, pry resistant or proof.
An yeah.... you want to curb gun violence, up the punishment for it. If you cannot see that I was being facetious regarding the removal of a hand, then jesus, you shouldn't own a gun period...

It allows 15 year old douche bags to rob and kill innocent people. It allows Columbine, Connectiicut, l'ecole Polytechniqe... etc...

No. It makes people unwilling/unable to arm themselves subject to the exact tyranny the 2nd amendment is designed to prevent.

And that's really the heart of gun control: it's not "think of the children," that's a clever ruse. The issue is a bunch of pansies who won't arm themselves so they think if they take everyone else's guns it'll level the playing field. It doesn't. Instead it allows anyone physically stronger than you (and let's be honest...most of the liberals whining for gun control are weak) to take whatever they want, whenever they want.

Hmmm, it's unfortunate there's no easy answer. The anti-gun people are pansies according to pro-gun people, and the pro-gun people are crazy according to the anti-gun people.
I get your point of view... your right to bear arms is protected under the constitution, but to what end?
The only way a gun ban would work is to remove every, single gun on the planet.. then you'd have to ban knives, and then rocks, etc..

The end protected under the constitution is simple: everyone is armed equally so that no one has superior force. This was designed to protect people from their government and from each other.

When you die in a street race, it's an accident. What Adam did was no accident. Nobody wakes up, steals their mothers car and goes out to kill 20 children and 6 adults then gets out of the car and let's it run them over to commit suicide.

If Adam's mom didn't have a car he wouldn't have driven to the school.

What's that?.. you say he could have walked or STOLEN another car? Someone remind me of that story in China where a man killed like 20 people with a knife?

Takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun. When you're in need and the police are minutes away you're going to wish someone had a gun to save your ass

Hmm he was using an 8 inch knife. I think we should ban those because we do not need Knives that big. In that size they work in full auto and are only used for murders.

I would imagine he would have walked to a closer school. It's my understanding he passed a number of other schools on the way to Sandy. I mean, if we're talking about hypothetical scenarios and all.

I don't think your gun/s is gonna be very equal to an apache starting you down. Then again, with a drone strike, you wouldn't see it coming anyway. That is, if the government decided to take over. Doesn't seem very equal to me. If anything, that seems like a false sense of Hope and security. Kind of like believing in god.

Apaches, Drones, US Soldiers shooting American citizens, American citizens shooting US Soldiers.

Ridiculous, if we get to that point, then everyone would be in a world of hurt and there will be no Atheists.

A very bad day.

Completely absurd.

Why is it absurd? If you want to own and store, then why shouldn't you have to take the greatest precautions you can in order to be sure your weapons are secure? Sounds like a better deal than having them stripped away.. but I'm sure you don't see it that way in your closed mind.

Not quite sure that's what your forefathers meant. It was written at a time when it took you forever to fire and reload a weapon... and I highly doubt it was meant - screw it everyone should be armed to the hilt...
If that was truly the case then I would suggest they were idiots... give everyone guns, and at some point all hell well break lose.

Ridiculous? Isn't that why the 2nd amendment it's there in the first place. If it's ridiculous, then you don't really need them in the first place, hmmmm?

Slow down Canada.

Articles can even be stolen from a wall safe, floor safe, attic safe, bank safe, Holy Grail safe and the Devil's safe. It is just a safe.

Also, do not agree with holding one individual responsible, let alone accountable, for a stranger's actions.

But then again, that is your thoughts and not included in the new proposed law.

Slow down again Canada, the thought of Govt using Apaches and Drones on US civilians is ridiculous, but then again, nothing surprises many of us.

Again, it would be a sad day.

Sure they can... If you have s safe made from tin foil.. If you have a large-ish collection and a 1 foot thick, 1 to 2 ton safe, I would image most gun thieves don't have the tools to steal them....

Sooooo, by your words, if I were to break into your house and take your guns, that were stored in a glass display let's say, and then use those weapons to kill someone, you should not be held accountable?

Jesus man leave you keys in your car, let it get stolen and you are held accountable....

If the Taliban can manage to fight the entire might of the US military with not much more then AK-47's and home made explosives, what makes you think an American populace with a stronger value for human life, liberty and freedom and realistically a fighting force that will be 10 times the size as the Taliban over a country 5 times the land mass of Afghanistan can't do the same or far better?

An individual should not be held accountable for a stranger's actions.

And from your car analogy, that would be the same as giving a criminal the keys to one's primary residency and a means to enter the safe (where the guns are located).

Who hands over the keys to the residency, let alone aids in the theft of one's firearms.

This is just a pointless discussion on the forum. You typed your thoughts, it appears a number of others did not agree. That's it.

Lol. Right.. look up the Canadian long gun registry and tell me Canadians have no backbone. That in itself shows how little you know outside your American bubble.

You really believe you speak for the majority? Of course the constitution is valued, it's what your country was founded on, I have not said otherwise...

How many letters have you written to congress to dissuade them from attempting to implement any new weapons ban? Zero I bet. Perhaps, you would be better off exercising your constitutional right and letting your government know how upset you are. But you would much rather wage your war in here, thump your chest and show how big your balls are, where it makes NO difference at all.
If you fail to see you have a gun related problem, that's your issue. If you can't handle people pointing that out, that's your issue. I have not suggested that the guns need to be taken away, as I've said numerous times now...You just jump on the bandwagon in which anyone who mentions the word "gun" must be a liberal, or against them, or whatever.... your blinders prevent you from seeing anything other than that which you wish to see... your forefathers would be sooo impressed...
You tout the 2nd amendment, but piss on the first amendment, unless that speech is in agreement with yours..good job.

Guys so you know he clearly doesn't know much about firearms or firearms law in Canada or less so about American laws and does not speak for Canada.

He invokes the defeat of our long gun registry on one hand but fails to realize save for a few rifles restricted or prohibited by name (AKs, Ar-15s) the "defeat of the registry" takes many rifles that he would consider "assault rifles" off the governments confiscation list. Mini-14, ACR, SU-16, Robinson XCR and the list goes on.

Canadian requirement for non-restricted semi-automatic centerfire rifles to have a barrel length of at least 18.5 inches and 26 inch OAL

On a side note I wish I could hunt with an AR up here it would make a perfect coyote gun. The ergonomics are so nice, now I just have to save money for an ACR or maybe a TAVOR.
