How do you go about purchasing a used SCT device? Isn't it linked to the vehicle it was originally on? Will you still be able to get tunes through the company it was originally purchased from?

It needs to be unlocked/unmarried from the other car first. A far as the tunes, it is probably only setup for the original purchaser.

If we could get 7 or more people to buy, I could offer a decent price brand new with preloaded SCT tunes for the ST. I need one, you need one...so need 5 more

Maybe Fishtail? Nemesis?

My understanding of "unmarried" means as long as they returned the car to stock before selling it to someone else it should be considered unlocked and ready to go for a different user?

Yes it should be.

Not sure how much those are selling for, but if we find a few more, price would be less.

Would anyone be down for doing the access port that Cobb tuning has out?

not currently in the market but i can tell you ive only had good results with SCT. had diablo and wow what a disaster. there is something about cobb that just rubs me wrong.

honestly, i think if we want to gain more than 30whp, a turbo swap is a must. when you up the boost, and the tq goes up and the hp stays about the same, its a sign of reaching your efficiency limits of the mechanical DEVICE (k0-3)

I am also familiar with SCT. The Port is something I came across through Fswerks. Its making the same power. But the fact the port can run like several gauges saves me a ton of money off the bat. Plus all the other things it can do that the SCT can't.

I like the sct just because of dealing with them and tuners. To me, why re-invent the wheel when there is already an option or has been. Plus I can use the flasher on other cars for logging or checking codes.

Anything SCT can do the access port can do plus more. Plus I was going to buy a wideband with pod which a nice one is easily over 200. But the access port can do what a wide band does.....it just makes more sense for me.

The SCT depending on which tuner you go with will be 380+. The access port is 450 and does ten times more.

I have economic reasons and more to stick with SCT.

But it sounds like you had your mind made up. I was just trying to help out. And the SF3 comes with tunes from sct
