Got id1000s and an e85 tune. Already have bap's, car runs strong and afr is where it needs to be. Going to log and see where my fuel pump and injectors duty cycles are at.

What are you guys using for plugs on E85, I have been doing some research and seems other guys have been having good luck using TR6 plugs. I'm currently running TR7IX plugs but I feel that's not the best plug for E85, and have any of you guys been testing your E85, in AZ I'm only getting E80.

I use Tr7ix plugs in mine. TR6 is a hotter plug and not the best option. E80 is really a pretty good %. I test anywhere from E70 early in the year to E85 in the peak of summer through fall. The lower the percentage the richer the mixture. Example if you were tuned safe for e85 and got e80 in the tank = no problem. If you were tuned on the edge for e85 and got e87....you may be getting lean.

My local tuner told me even E70 has a high enough octane rating where they can make something like 1400 hp on it.

Well I decided I had to make a move on my fuel system and it seemed like gearhead08 had positive results with his DW300m pumps install so I decided to order those pumps up as well and give them a try. I did the install and it went pretty quick and easy overall. Like others have stated the fuel pump socks they include are a bit of a joke so I reused the stock fuel sock. If there is a way to purchase a new OEM sock I would definitely go that route. We got some snow last night so once the roads clear up and it warms up again I will data log the car and report my results with the DW300M fuel pumps.

I'm excited to see results. Seems like this may be a safe alternative to more expensive fuel systems.

Good to hear. When Lund was tuning my car I told him I was only getting E80 at the pump so he put my timing 18 degrees which is a little low for E85, I have seen some guys run 21 degrees advanced. But I would rather be safe than sorry. I'm going to email Lund about the spark plugs and see what he thinks.

I am around 20-21* timing on my current tune. I think it's technically 20* but I see it reaches 21* on my data logs.

I know some of the later cars go as much as 24* advance timing also. But thats probably a bit much for my 07.

I'm currently running tr7ix gapped how they come. Car starts a little weird but it runs great, I've read on other threads that e85 likes a hotter plugs. Such as tr6 gapped at .028. I might grab some and see how the car likes them

My car runs great on the Tr7IX gapped at .032

I guess I could see E85 is a little bit cooler burning and needing a hotter plug on lower boost situations but at around 16 psi I was told to stick with my TR7's for E85.

So I ended up going with the lethal divsion x 1400hp return style fuel system. Currently tuning with Lund. Love the smell of the corn lol. Im also running the tr6s, 21-22lbs of boost with 2.8 kb. I have a tune with 20* of timing and another one 22* of timing. I was thiking about getting tr7ix. Lund recommends Brisk GR12S gap to .028"

That great to hear. Lund put a lot more timing in your tune than mine. I ordered a set of TR6 plugs yesterday, but I'll look into the brisk GR12s plugs also. I'm going to email Lund and see what he says.

I have been running E85 with a return system for a few years. I would recommend logging your rail pressure and pump duty cycle thru a full 1/4 mile pass. My car used to go lean, drop fuel pressure, and max the pumps right after shifting, which was the main reason I converted to a return system. The on/off fuel demand of shifting and the PCM's ability to quickly adjust was the issue. Some of this can be tuned out, but worth checking vs just a single gear pull. I run 23.5 on timing, with ~21lbs boost, [email protected]. Surprised to hear all the low timing figures on corn.

Your tune is very conservative. I think some use 18* with 93 octane. Im sure Lund can give you a much more aggressive tune

I was going to ask him about, but I'm sure over 800whp so I really don't want to push it to much more and hurt my engine. I emailed him earlier today and he said TR6 is to hot of plug for my boost level and to either run BR7EF plugs or the Brisk GR12S plugs. I'm going to order the brisk plugs and see how the car likes them. Lund also said he doesn't recommend the TR7IX plugs on E85.

I would stop at 800 too lol. That's enough power hows traction tho? Letme know how those work for you. I might get them too

Yeah I just order the GR12s from Steeda, I will say not many places seem to carry them and they are the most expensive plugs I have ever bought. Anyway I'll let you know if I feel they improve anything. Traction isn't much of a issue, I run Bobs lower control arms and a set of 305 M/T SS tires. I can kinda hook in first lol, but 40 and up I'm good, and yeah I'm good at 800whp for now.

Nice. I should be pretty close to 800whp according to Lund...

Just dynod my car, 666rwhp/626rwtq. Fuel pump duty cycle was around 65% and injector around the same. Timing is at 23* and the fuel rail pressure was dropping at the top of the pull.
