Is anyone running the nGauge in their 03-04 Cobra? I plan on getting the nGauge and tune from Lund. Curious about how easy it is to use and any complications. Thanks
My understanding is the nGauge from Lund will only support Lund tunes. And he only uses the nGauges he supports.
How's that screen in the daylight? I like my Aeroforce, but the screen can be hard to read in sunlight. And when it gets warm the screen fades out. Can you add the wideband and boost like on the Aeroforce?
Yes the tune part of it is worthless to me.
One really neat feature is just two quick taps of the screen and its data logging what ever PIDS you predefined to an internal SD card.
It's the same for me. I've been using SCT for years. Although if HP ever decides to support our cars I might be tempted.
That's pretty cool. I'd be datalogging every time I drive the car.
A tune from Lund? Are you unable to go to a local shop with a dyno that knows our cars?
What do you have against Lund? He might be one of the best out there. He does know these carsA tune from Lund? Are you unable to go to a local shop with a dyno that knows our cars?
How is the nGauge worthless if it does what we need it to do? Datalog and upload tunes. If I have the Innovative LM-2 wideband that plugs into the nGauge, I can datalog and see AFR live, right?Forget HP, what you really want is the Binary Editor / Quarter Horse package from coretuning.net. The interface is really similar to SCT so you'll be right at home with it except it works so much better. The highlighted feature is tuning in real time while the engine is running and no more flashing the ECU on every change. It's absolutely amazing to work with.
It also has a USB cable directly to your laptop for data logging and it works practically instantly and no hang ups, rebooting and freezing like the X3/4 setups tend to do.
It's the most amazing package ever. When ever I tune a local car in person I use it. There are many more features but I won't derail this thread with all that.
Give Ben a call over there. Tell him I sent you, he's helped a number of people I've referred there.
Correct. That's why I say the tuning upload part of the nGauge is worthless to the majority of people. You can only use it for a gauge display and data logging. Which it does very well I might add.

Gotcha now. I did misunderstand. I cant see myself being tied down to Lund only. There is more that I plan on doing to this car in the future. Looks like I'm going SCTX4 and just getting the tune from Lund. Thanks for the clarification. You're miss understanding. What he's pointing out is the tune upload feature on the nGauge is locked to uploading a tune from Lund only. Meaning anyone else's tune cannot be uploaded by the nGauge.
I did not say the nGauge is worthless. I said the tune upload feature is worthless as it only works for Lund. Nobody else.
Yes you can see A/F live and data log it.
All his tunes are based off a strict parts build lists. If you go with other parts its just not going to work out and he isnt going to customize anything for you.
I'm not sure if people realize but Lund has a team of tuners writing the tunes. So when you get a Lund tune you're just getting a tune from which ever employee picked up that ticket and handled your case. It's not John Lund himself tuning your car. I know because a buddy of mine works for Lund doing exactly that lol.
Did you send a datalog to him? That's fine for part throttle A/F. If it was under WOT I'd be concerned.I have a lund tune with NGauge and when i installed it my car starts and idles really bad. I have to pedal the gas to keep it running when I start it for a bit. When driving and coming to a stop and I push in the clutch the rpms drop and it stalls if I don't pedal the gas some. Other than that car seems to drive O.K. Also what should my AFR read when I'm just cruising at in town speeds. Its reading around 14.1- 14.5 and I think that is too lean not sure. Its a 2011 Gt500 with 2.6 pulley, long tubes, O/R H-pipe, steeda mufflers, JLT 123mm CAI. I'm waiting to here back from lund as I just emailed them today. Thanks in Advance
