Hello everyone,

I just bought 03 Cobra and there are some noise when engine is on or while driving.
Ticking or snapping noise gets faster when RPM rises.
I can only hear from under the car/engine.
If I am in front of car with hood open, I can't hear it from there.
Here is link for the video clip.
Can it be exhaust leak noise?

Also, This is video clip taken from engine bay.
I can hear the noise that I mentioned above but I hear some whistling noise.

Do you guys hear anything odd from these two video clip?

Please advice!

Thank you.

definitely not an exhaust leak. I don't like how pronounced it is from under the car.

I would jack up the car on all 4 corners and turn car on and have someone Rev up a little and narrow down exactly were the noise is.
Did you rule out clutch issues?

You should be able to pin point it. It could be something on your serpentine belt like idler pully

Let's hope it's not in the engine itself

Just jack it up and locate where the noise is coming from. Once you find out where it is coming from or which part is making noise
we svtp members can help you more.

If you have no interest in working on your car then yes I would have a shop look at it.

One reason I'm hesitate to jack up my car is that I am still search good jacking point besides pinch weld seam. I don't have pinch weld seam adapter yet so if I jack up from pinch weld seam, it is going to be bent and I don't like that to happen to this car. It happened to all of my previous car and I don't want to that happen on this one. I should get this soon.

Beside pinch weld seam, where is good jacking for the front?

Almost sounds like TOB or clutch related as far as the noise is concerned. If it's TOB related, the noise should go away once the clutch is depressed. As far as the jacking point, why not use the subframe connector?

The noise doesn't get affected whether clutch is pressed or not. It stays the same

Does it has to be after market subframe connector?
Can I jack up anywhere from pictures?

The square tube thats welded to the factor subframe is the subframe connector it looks blackish in the pic. Jack off of that its usually very thick material.

See the 2 holes drilled side by side in the factory subframe. The square/rectangular tube thats just below the holes thats the subframe connector.
