Time may be coming where a daily commute will go from 10 minutes back roads to 45+ minutes highway. Current vehicle selection is a 03 Silverado 2500HD 6.0L gas 2wd and a 95 Camaro Z28 with a bunch of goodies for autocross (full suspension/no AC/no cruise control). Realistically Camaro would be sold and will fund the new car.
Rules of the game:
-$5000 max
-Does NOT require 93 octane.
-2 door/4 door/hatch are fine
-No Audi/Lexus/MB due to repair costs unless said car is bulletproof
-No bottom of the barrel Civic types with rock hard seats and horrible ride characteristics (I will spend a decent amount of time in the car so I'd like it to be somewhat enjoyable LOL)
-Avoiding V8 simply due to gas mileage.
-Something that with lowering springs/wheels/tint can look respectable....I'm a car guy I HAVE to mod the car a little bit
That said, some cars I have found that fit this criteria through FB marketplace since it's easy to search:
Mazda 3/6 sedan or hatchbacks
Acura rsx (parts expensive? needs 93?)
2010-2012 Chevy Cruise
2000-2003 Subaru Legacy sedan or wagon
BMW 3 series (no clue on maintenance repairs)
Kia Optima (actually found some 2011 models LOL)
Yes, I am all over the place with this. I love the idea of a Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Town Car, Caprice for comfort but the V8 somewhat negates the point of an efficient car.
After a newer truck is bought for my wife and I, MY next car is a C5/C6.
