Where to start. We moved into this house like 23 years ago, and redone almost everything inside. New kitchen, bathrooms and blah, blah.
The garage was next. I had put the old kitchen cabinets in there like 14 years ago when we did the kitchen. They were just cheap ass partial board, and really didn’t hold up well in the Florida humidity and crap. I repainted the floor every few years with H&C xylene based stain. Great stuff, and did hold up well. It was time for the garage makeover. Always wanted epoxy floors, but the ones I’ve seen look like shit. Hardly any flakes, and very random. I looked at the do it yourself crap, nah. There’s a local home improvement magazine that comes in the mail every week, and I kept seeing the one company that just does garages, including cabinets. Went down to my neighbors who had theirs done by them, oh my, the floor was unreal. Talked to the owner, he came out and gave me a estimate. Yikes...
I did some research, and it was in line for such a quality job. Went back and forth a few times on cabinets(They make theirs in house) and pulled the trigger. I had 4 weeks to empty this garage, repaint and get it ready. What a ****er.
Walls and ceiling washed with TSB and painted. Went white on the ceiling and a light gray on the wall. Replaced all the switches and outlets to black and did stainless plates. I threw so much old crap out I had it was unreal.
Anyways, they diamond grind the floor, put some crap on it and then start. First day was epoxy and massive amounts of 1/4” chips. Next day was 2 coats of the clear stuff. Third days was the cabinets. Outstanding work, and no mess. Now to put all back together. Oh yeah, they do these door thresholds and do a 4” border all the way around. I also replaced the sink and painted the doors. Garage is 20’ x 26’.
On to the pictures if the site is cooperative.
