Balls of ****ing steel!
Is that not the dude who posted on here a month or two ago talking about the record?
Having done a fast coast to coast drive with a friend, it's not that cool or interesting when you have 100 people front running for you. It eliminates the variables that take up time. Shouldn't even count as a record. In 8 years someone with a tesla and a generator in the back will break the record via car self driving.
Not a bad idea, but this has been prevented by Tesla firmware for quite sometime, basically if the charge port is in use the car will not move. Though perhaps in the future.....

I'm tempted to toss out an "Ok boomer" but I'll resist. Every year, there's advancements. Every person has the ability to use whatever they can. I'm sure someone once said radar detectors are "ruining" a true Cannonball run.
I don't remember which record it was, but I know I watched a video about an older record holder and they talked about hiring some people with crop dusting planes to check for cops and report to them via CB or something.
Plus you make it sound like they had it easy. Just because they had a spotter run a second of highway 20 minute prior doesn't mean some state trooper just merged onto that highway 2 minutes ago.
I've done a 230ish mile stretch in 2 hours simply as a passenger, and that was a little nerve racking....and I was never facing jail time.
One car accident ahead of them during a 2,800 mile drive and their entire attempt could have been over. One flat tire, and game over (unless they had a full spare...good question).
To put down their record in any slight sense is extremely foolish in my opinion.
Um...no. Was that some joke or something?
Like anything else, it can be modified
I'm a millennial... It wasn't a joke, you just didn't get it. A self-driving car winning next was an exaggerated example of someone doing even less and winning because of technology allowing it.
