no! but that is just being a responsible parent. I like a buck just as much as the next guy but I draw a line on some things, especially when I know the person I'm dealing with.
if Your son offer you $30k CASH for your 86 . would you still sell it to him ?
I felt good that he would take care of the car and it was a dream car for him. But sometimes people make bad decisions that we cannot control. If I sold it to someone I did not know same thing could have happened and I would not have known so dont give me some bull about knowing or not you never know what can happen or what people will do.
BTW, do you know if alcohol was a contributing factor.

We have similar mind set. I’m in my very early 30 . But I take a lot good advice from older person like you .
I’m guessing the drive train. Motor and supercharger probably worth that.
I'd imagine everything would be cracked and busted up...
Man your buddy had best thank the Good Lord on that one for sure. A miracle he even survived! Sorry to see such a cherry, dream car smashed like that. That had to hurt you to see your baby in that shape. So it came time to sell my Cobra with 2 boys and 1 on the way I just did not drive it. Not because I did not have the want but just no time no room for the boys and I don't need tickets or an accident as when I did drove it I drove it... I sold it to a close friend for 30k so I was happy well she made it 6 days! Got to respect the power he lived but hurting.
Sad I sold it with 11,896 miles after 15 years gone in an instant.
