Im excited about this car and the Corolla GR. The 25 year old me will always love this segment!!
I wish Mitsubishi would bring back a class ass-kicking Evo.
From what I understand the GR will have a little insanity built in, which is nice.Im excited about this car and the Corolla GR. The 25 year old me will always love this segment!!

Those look like they are fun to drive. The newer hot hatches are too civilized. I love my crazy hard boost hit, torquesteering (even with LSD) Mazdaspeed 3. The Mazdaspeed 3 is like are car you build yourself to be very capable, but a little crazy to boot.View attachment 1769454
I actually really want a GR. Never wanted a Toyota so bad as I do that car. It will be a collector item for sure in the future with how wild it is built and what they threw at it.
Ill probably pick one up.
It feels weird to say, but I'd rather a FWD-based compact like the GR Corolla or this FL5 Type R over a RWD manual Supra or Z. I guess these feel like traditional JDM hot rods we never got in the past.I actually really want a GR. Never wanted a Toyota so bad as I do that car. If I can get my hands on one I will. Last I heard they were only going to make 4500 a year I think?
That's for the Circuit model or whatever theyre calling it I think?
They really are a hoot. Mine is mild at 320whp/390wtq, but spinning in 4th when passing while it is trying to pull you off the road a little is a hoot. You have to DRIVE it.Those look like they are fun to drive.
I have a Gen Juan, 08 Speed3. Had it since 08, 165k on it now. Original turbski. Stock except Speed3 intake and Hks Bov. Daily driven its whole life. Had the timing chain done, and consumables. I really think the Chevron Techron fuel treatment every year and Rotella T6 have kept the old girl going. Never had to clean the intake valves, most get the carbon build up. Problems from one of the first Direct Injection systems. I agree, fun little cars. They really are a hoot. I had a red Gen 1 and loved the interior better than the Gen 2, but the Gen 2 has a lot of other improvements. Very fun cars. LSPI is their biggest gremlin. Again, turbo DI cars were new to the scene when these engines came out.I have a Gen Juan, 08 Speed3. Had it since 08, 165k on it now. Original turbski. Stock except Speed3 intake and Hks Bov. My wife and I went back and forth last night on it and eventually decided the old one looked more... correct?Looks a hell of a lot better than the last, the last one does drive great though. I just can’t see 45 grand (or more with admin) for a Honda civic. Ouch.
