Are Ford Performance ignition coils still the best choice?

I believe historically the Ford Performance ignition coil packs have been the preferred choice when buying replacements for our cars, but it's been years, production has moved to China, etc. Are they still the best choice?

I haven't been noticing misfires or anything, but at 20+ years old and ~7 years spent outside, I figure replacing them wouldn't be a bad idea.

The yellow Accel's have run flawless for me. But when in doubt stay with Fords.

The OEM ones are damn expensive compared to the aftermarket ones at least double at my local dealer but I still prefer the OEM ones

Thanks all. I assume it makes sense to replace them even though I haven't noticed a particular issue. They're original and I wonder about getting weak spark or something. I do open track it so it gets run hard.

How many miles are on them? I would swap out the boots and springs before swapping coils that don’t have a misfire. From what I’ve researched, the spring can build resistance over time causing the coil itself to weaken and fail. So replacing the boots and springs is supposed to be preventative maintenance.

I listed the wrong part number in my 1st post here is the right one, If you dont go with the Fords I highly recommend the Accels. here is the correct link and I have edited my first post.

Close to 90k, but again they are original and car spent 7 years outside. I'm not familiar with the anatomy of these ignition coils...you're saying to buy *just* the boots and springs and I can detatch the old ones from the coil and attach the new ones?

What bullitt said.

I’d have to disagree. I wouldn’t replace them due to age. I’ve had many Modular’s over the years with original coils with no problems. And they were all kept outside. If you have one start to go south replace it. Otherwise I say just do springs and boots.

And these cars don’t have coils and wires, they have coils.

+1 to that. The coils are original on my 01 cobra and it’s boosted and all no issues as of yet.
