Maybe. It's been years since I've seen anything stock on the dyno. I think my 01 was in the 270's when I dynoed it in stock trim.

Stuff like this I always say it comes down to personal preference. I guess I'm the typical Cobra elitist because that's what I prefer. Either one is a win really.
My 01 cobra was 270 stock on the dyno.

Mine was 272 or 3 iirc...270-275 were the average numbers

The machs made better TQ on the dynos than the 99/01s but hp was quite similar

That's right.
And that number corresponds to the 13-15% loss to the manual transmission.

Non revised intake 99 cobras got about 263.
Nothing on my 99 was recalled.

I just put a mach1 intake on mine..big whoop..gonna dyno it someday and before I do more NA mods just to see what the actual difference is between the unrevised intake and the revised....hoping for 273!

It's a mixed bag I think.

My cars FTBR IRS/T56 Swapped/MM suspension with a built C head. Naturally I'm glad it is what is is, and that's it's a mach, but obviously I have bias.

All of the mods withstanding, the shaker hood, sail panels, seats/interior upgrades, and general aesthetic of a mach is more unique IMO. The 99/01 cobras are essentially premium v6 03/04 cars with a different front bumper and tail lights.

Mach1 all day or if you can find a 2002 Cobra that would be cool.

The 01 also had the seats and the back bumper. I always tell people if they want a new edge Cobra to get the 01.

New edge = 99-04
03-04 may be a "Terminator", but it's still a "new edge"
If you want to get technical 94-04 is SN95. I get what you're saying, but if you talk about Cobras in a group of owners It's generally known that 96-98 is SN95, 99/01 is new edge, and 03/04 is Terminator.

Or maybe that's just out here because we usually have decently large turn outs.

Literally no one does that....but you....and maybe you're friends. "New Edge" was giving to the 99-04 SN95 to differentiate it from the 94-98 SN95.

94-04 SN95
99-04 New Edge, because of new body style

It's been done on here for years. That's why I started doing it. Hell, look at the forum names. So no, I'm not the only one.

New edge is the 99/01 Cobras. Not everyone wants a Terminator. Plus I owned an 01 at one time. It's where I learned most of what I now know.

I purchased my '01 over an 03/04 because of price. Back in 2010, the delta between them was ~$6,000. I just didn't want to spend the dough.

Terminators were worth every penny though, then some. Seats, trans, s/c, block, intake, dash, taillights, wheels, front/rear bumpers, hp/trq, mirrors, hood, internals, etc...

Lotsa, not just changed, but improvements between them.

Were there any differences between the two where you'd say, "Ya, the '99/'01 was better?"

Oh, taillights - lol.

99/'01's will always be the bastard kids. Still great Cobra Mustangs. I loved mine.

Actually the 99/01 tail lights are where the money is at.

Just don't call them "fourth gens" like those idiots on Reddit

I grew up on the other side of the fence and 4th gens are 93-02 f-bods

The large majority of people I run into don't even know there is a difference between 99/01 and 03/04 and think they're all supercharged. I bought a 01 for 2 reasons, a clean terminator is over 30k and I feel there are better options for that price. Second reason is I plan to coyote swap it and I think it's a bad idea in the long run to coyote swap a terminator.
