Shots fired!
A guy offered me $28k for my white coupe a couple days ago. I said sure man, but today only. He was a couple hours away. I sent him the address of a chase bank. Told him I’d meet him there to pick up his great cash offer. Sat back and relaxed. Play stupid games win stupid prizes dad always said.

Dealer is asking $150k. As far as I can tell, $150k mustang doesn't even get you a built motor.

People are always asking absolutely insane prices on Super Snakes, but it has gotten way worse in the last 2 years.

Seems like if you want a good deal, your best bet is bringatrailer or Mecum auctions. Lots of cars sell for realistic prices.
This is what Super Snakes should be selling for

It's ****ed right now. I have been waiting for prices to fall to grab another toy.

I am about to pay off my daily driver and had plans to pick something up. I am probably going to wait because prices are so jacked up.

Some of this stuff also seems influenced by YouTubers. C5s for example were cheap for a long time. Then they gained traction on YouTube and prices started climbing.

You could also draw the same conclusion with the 2V New Edge cars.

Same. My trucks been paid off. But I’m not paying these current prices

If your waiting for late 90s early 2000s model prices to drop, I think your going to be waiting a long time. Cars that fall in these model years are highly sought after. Buyers are reliving their teenage years and now in their mid 30s early 40s with money to burn.
Yep! I couldn’t agree more

That describes me to a T but I am not paying current prices. Maybe if I find a clean manual C5 at the right price I'll bite.

I think prices are starting to come down but its going to take some time for overpriced crap to sit, sit, keep sitting, sit longer, and then people may realize we're not living in 2021 anymore.

I've been watching the Land Cruiser / Lexus Land Cruiser market for a while now and the series 200 trucks (08-21) are starting to drop below 20 grand now. Just 3 months ago you couldn't touch a 2008 with 250,000 miles for under 25 grand. I've found a few LX570's with 150ish on the odo for 19 grand.

Plenty of people think its still 2 years ago when it comes to pricing, the real question is how much of this is selling. I've certainly seen over priced junk sitting on marketplace for MONTHS.

Here is a great one I just came across earlier tonight, this E39 M5 sold 17 days ago for 18 grand

6 days ago it got listed on FB Marketplace for 28,000 dollars

I've seen a few really good deals on E39 M5's in the past couple of weeks, the market has softened on these cars (probably doesn't help that when prices shot up a buttf**k ton ended up for sale). This dude is living in 2021 if he thinks he's going to get 28 grand in this market for this car.

I was looking pretty closely at a 20GT base car with 33k miles on it. Car was prob a 9.5/10 interior and exterior. Had a Steeda stop hop setup, steeda springs/adjustable shocks/sway bars, x-pipe with resonator delete. Dealer didn't even know the mods. Dealer asking 35800. Original window sticker was 39500. Car was four years old and you know if didn't sell for more than sticker. Only 1000/year depreciation? Yeah, no.

Let's see if it sits there another month. They sold the car originally, and actually bought it back as opposed to taking it on a trade.

Guys on reddit will almost brag about paying high 30's for a 2018 GT and then people will tell them how great of a deal they got.

I refuse to pay that much for a car that is now 4 model years old. If I could have gotten them down to low 30's I'd have moved on it. Honestly, if they are bringing that kind of money use, I'll buy and sell yearly lol.

Got a good friend who's a car dealer/mustang guy, and he laughed when I told him the price. Said that was premium car money for that car.

He's now on a hunt for a used S550. He will find me one eventually.

You are at a much higher price point than this but I've been toying with the idea of buying a 5.0 F150 (2018+) and selling my V8 4Runner.

No matter how I shake it out, I keep coming back to keeping said 4Runner despite it having 146k on it. That 2UZ V8, A750 Aisin transmission and AWD/differentials are just bulletproof at stock hp levels and it does what I need it to do.

I was looking at 16-17 S550s during rona and I watched them climb and climb. There were premium GTs going for at or above original MSRP when I stopped.

Things seem to be correcting a little on those cars now in my area. Still more than I want to pay for another toy though.
