Give us a break. The only way your "story" is even plausible is if it occurred at the point in time when Florida's "racing" statute was determined unconstitutional by the Florida Supreme Court. Consequentially, it was rewritten and has been determined constitutional.

I got that ticket about 2 years ago when the law was first put into effect and it was the hot thing. I got out of it, and one of my other buddies that I was referring to just got one about 4-5 months ago, his was dismissed as well. I have no reason to lie about any of this, just telling the guy to get a lawyer and he should be fine.

thanks for the help people, hopefully this wont be too bad,

i had no idea that florida was getting this pumped up about street racing

Florida is home to some sick cars behind cali Imo.

Find the thread about Nick Hogan and see what kind of punishment he
could be facing because of his street racing accusations.

Anywhere that they consider street racing a "problem" you can expect
extremely heavy consequences, They dont joke about this anymore

There is no way you get a dismissal if the officer watched the entire race from start to stop with tire spin and a 1/4 mile run. There is more to this story, based on that there is no way a lawyer gets that dismissed.

Nick Bollea (Hogan) is pleading Nolo tomorrow morning to the felony. He is throwing himself on the mercy of the court because the max is 5 years in prison. The Marine who is in a persistent vegetative state, his family will be there tomorrow to ask the judge for jail time.

They reviewed his recent speeding tickets on the news a few minutes ago. A ticket the week before the accident doing 107 in a 70. Then 115 in a 70. Then 57 in a 30, and one other. Plus the ones he claims he got off of. I really think the judge after hearing from John Graziano's mother, is going to give him at least jail time, but I am hoping for prison.

This is one of the few times I really wish where public pressure could influence a judge.

5 years a loss of license for life would be fair

Its called having a good lawyer. That is all to the story, The cop saw the WHOLE thing go down, I got a ticket for street racing, took it to court, lawyer got it dismissed. THEN, the kid I was racing didnt even have a lawyer, he went in and pled NO CONTEST and got 6 months of driving probation.

So the story changes. No Contest is appropriately called Nolo Contendere. That is a conviction. Since racing is a criminal charge. He now has a criminal conviction. But, if you werent questioned you would have had the OP believe that everyone gets off.

No, the story did not change, you just mis-read what I wrote. My charges were dropped, the kid I was racing pled no contest, my OTHER friend that got the ticket a few months back, his charges were also dropped.

The police would have used the info from the person caught and then tracked him down at his residence and completed their investigation.

+1 thats a great question. If you didnt answer your phone and they most liekly didn't have your tag number then the only way that they could track you down would be if your friend snitched on you....

Although most people who use the "street" definition of a race, would describe a race as from a stop or a roll and going WOT for a distance. But that isnt the law.

Exactly the reason why politicians are sneaky about making vague and unspecific blanket laws so they can interpret and apply it to whatever they want. Slippery slope for the loss.

The Florida Statute is quite unamibiguous. Regardless, it is common law that defines the statute application.

It is very sneaky, but one cannot blame a LEO for enforcing the law. That is what they do for a living.
