There has got to be something else done to that vette. With just an intake it should be around 475-480rwhp-ish. And you had a passenger and you still beat a 3000lb, 500whp evo, come on...

Maybe the gearing/aerodynamics for both cars had something to do with it.

All I know is that Z06's are no joke, especially when you are talking about 110+mph.

both had passengers, and there is no way i'm making 480 with a K&N intake because Stock Z06's make around 440rwhp depending on the dyno

What do C6Z's usually put down rwhp with just an intake?

Check my sig for intake only numbers.

As for the race, I am calling BS on the Evo's numbers. I have roll'ed on against my brothers old 480whp(pump gas) GT35R Evo in my Z(we are good friends with the new owner) and while I did win, I didn't pull like that(I had 2~3 cars by 150mph). And there is no driver mod needed, I was number 10 on the fast list with my old LS3 coupe before I modified her for more power.

Mods on that Evo were a full AMS 35R kit, AMS FMIC, cams/springs, Spec twin disc, stock bottom end, and 30psi on pump gas(along with all the other misc crap needed). The owner has been tuning for years and constantly monitors the car/makes changes to keep things healthy.

The race shouldn't have been such a landslide victory from what I have experienced.

so in another words, you are saying that either the evo has way less power than 500awhp ?? either that, or slo vette might be a freak for intake only and putting quite a "bit" more than most "intake only" c6z's are putting down??
he says he hasn't been on a dyno so who knows exactly what his true numbers are..
also to add to that, that same evo ran a 640ish (at the time)2.8 kb cobra on dr's and
(evo) barely lost (so i heard ) by only 1-1.5 cars from a 30-125 roll, so i don't think that evo its making way less than said 500 if he really is..
slo vette also pull'd 2-3 cars on a c5z w/ boltons and a 125 shot making around 525, hopefully he'll chime in, i think he said 60-160 roll, i'm just amazed of how hard that thing pulls on the high end, props to him and his freak

^ I am not really sure what I am saying, but the race just seems too lop-sided from what I have experienced. New SAE rating procedure enures that all LS7's produce within 2% of their rated hp Program Details - SAE J1349 Certified Power - SAE International. So assuming Slow Vette's car is at max tolerance + the 12hp the Halltech Killer Bee(same intake I have) is rated for, he would end up with similar numbers to what is in my sig.

In the end the video doesn't lie and I am not discounting his victory. All I am saying is that based off my experience, something just doesn't add up. Nothing more :).

Also, a C6Z with nothing but an intake should get dominated by a KB Cobra. Based off the video, this Z would put a pretty decent beat down on that same KB Cobra. That also wouldn't make sense to me, buttt such is life lol.

since when does an evo weigh 3,000 lbs ?, evos weigh 3,200-3,300 lbs for a evo now add weight of the driver and anything in the car and if he had more then a 1/4 or 1/2 tank of gas that adds weight which means that car prob weighs 3,400lbs+ the weight isnt much diff between the vette and evo there both light, but if anything the vette is a tad ligther depending driver weight diff, awd cars are heavier then you think, evo's look ligther then they are..weight had nothing to do with this race, more like in this race the vette took advantage from a roll and from a dig it would be the evo's advantage, and power is similar with both cars give the weight advantage to the vette and roll race, give a dig race advantage to the awd evo, and maybe give or take 10-20whp diff between the 2 cars.

Slow_Vette do you ever lose a race? I want to see what it takes to actually beat your car. You walk away from every car that should in "theory" beat you or at least be a good race. I know the one guy on here with the Whipple Shelby beat you but that's the only time I have seen you get beat. I have ran my fair share of C6Z's and never had a issue up to 140 on the street or running 1/4... but fro mthe looks of it you'd walk me.
