OK this car has been repainted once prior to my buying the car. The car is a 98 and it sat for a long time and the clear coat on top panels of the car is shot. I'm thinking about seeing if the car can just be re cleared b/c the paint is good underneath it. Is that doable ? Now my Saleen hood and Saleen spoiler are black b/c they came off a black car.

what I'm thinking about doing is having it painted black from the body line up. What do you guys think about that color combo and /or two tone paint jobs ? I'm 35 and don't really want anything too flashy, or ricey for sure but this would be a very cost effective way to get the car to shine again.

can somone make to top black from the body line up, lower it, and tint the windows ????

any other opinions / suggestion ? I have considered just painting it black, or repaint in green but I would rather spend that money on a twin screw  I kinda like the green and hyperblack wheels together.

thanks
here's what I have to work with

trust me the paint is screwed up looking

those pics were taken just after I washed, wet sanded and buffed the hell out of it but the oxidation came right back a few days later. The car looks like total shit right now. The clear coat is all chalky.

Id honestly keep that car color. Just take it to a professional detailer. But I will work on your request. Also if you want more results, I'd recommend posting this in the One Hour Photo section. You'd get more responses from Photoshoppers such as myself.

if paint is in good shape you can have it recleared, but how bad is the clear coming off? that would be the cheapest and easiest route!

Here ya go.

I'm not a real fan of two-tone paint generally because people use contrasting colors and it just looks too flashy.

This looks pretty good though because it is subtle. If you do decide to go with a two-tone make sure you finish it with a pin stripe, it looks odd without it.
