My source from 2008 dried up. Anyone know of anybody who has the Koni Hoosier scrubbed tires for sale? Mine are about done and need a new set for this year. Now that it is the Continental Challenge I can only assume that Hoosier is no longer the tire provider for that series in 2010??? I'll find out in a week as I will be there to watch in Daytona baby!!! :pepper:

Give the guys at Rehagen Racing a call or email, last time I was down there at the shop they had some to sell. If your going to be at the race ask around for Dean, enjoy the race.

I think Hoosiers are still the tire the teams are using though, as far as I know it is a Hoosier slick with a Continental name.

Rehagen Racing, stop by and see us at Daytona. We've got a decent supply yet from what I remember. BTW the Continental tires are the same tires with a different name on them, so they won't be any different than what you are used to.

My name is Tom btw. I will most likely be working on the 59 car. Normally you could just look for the bald guy but I have hair in the winter time :)

EDIT: Damn, just a few minutes behind Jim!

Tom & Jim, Thanks guys. Do you ship them? If so how much per tire for cost plus shipping? I need a pair for now. Thanks, Shannon

Yes, most of them they sell get shipped. If you need them ASAP let me know tomorrow so that I can try to get them shipped after I get out of work and before I get on the plane Wednesday. Otherwise it won't happen for another week to 10 days because everyone is already down in Daytona for the race this coming Friday.

Good luck Friday!
We're not coming down this year. GrandAm pissed me off by starting at 3:30 Saturday. Makes for a long weekend when you have to be back at work Monday and it is a 10-11 hour drive home Sunday afternoon.

Sorry to hear that. I didn't understand why they started it so late either. I mean it runs 24 hours, it's not like you pick up a better part of the day that will get you more viewers:shrug:

I wish I could go but the start time still had me wondering WTF when I was setting the DVR?!?! 2:30pm CST

$139 shipped. Do you guys have any 17" rubber anymore or do you run all 18s? Have you talked to Jed lately?

No, I haven't talked to Jed lately. I am going to have to give him a call one of these days soon, well maybe after the snow is gone so we aren't stuck sitting inside. Last I talked to him, he still had the Spec Miata but hadn't really driven it at all. Maybe I can talk him into doing a track day this summer.

$139 shipped is for a pair. A whole set is obviously around double that. I don't think we have any 17's at the shop right now. I will see if we can pick some up this weekend though. If I can, how many do you want?

Id like a full set of 17s. 275 series preferably, can mount 285s though. That would get me back on some fairly new tires for part of 2010.

I havent talked to the guy in ages, either. I knew he and his wife were expecting but thats been over a year ago.

BTW GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND!!!!! GO GET SUM!

Alright, I'll see what I can do. Looks like some of the cars run 275/40-17's so I just need to find a scapegoat:-D

Yeah, I thought the last time I talked to him she was pregnant as well. I can't remember if I talked to him at all last summer or not.

Thanks, we'll probably need it!

Do you need both 17 & 18 or just the 17? I'll see what I can do either way.

Sometimes it's difficult for us to get good 17" sets since we run 18's and have to talk someone on another team into getting them for us. I'll do my best though.

Tom, It was great meeting you at the track and hanging out with you guys at the restaurant Fri night. Dean seems like a great guy. Please tell him I'm not sure about the 2000 Cobra R wheels yet. The 2003 Cobra 9" rims I have already rub up front so I know the 9.5" 2000 Rs would be even worse. Plus I looked them up and they are about 5lbs heavier a wheel which is going the wrong direction in weight savings. If you can find me a pair of the 275/40/17's I'll take them asap as long as they are from last year and not 2008. PM me on here if you find any and I'll give you my cell #. Thanks again, Shannon

Sounds good! I'll be at the shop this weekend and will see if I can find you a pair. Good talking with you too:beer:

EDIT: Anthony, I'll see if I can find you a set as well.

Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to look for some tires.

I hope to make it to Daytona one of these years, would be a great experience to see the races live and stay up for the 24.

No problem, PM's sent to you and Shannon.

This year was the first time I stuck around for the 24. I didn't stay up for the whole race though which I think was a mistake. I think you really need to watch the whole race and stay awake for that long in order to get the full experience. Otherwise it's just another race.

Anyways, here is why you guys should look into get 18" wheels. This wall is just stuff left over from last year. I can get these tires much more easy for you. FWIW, I was told if you buy a set of 18" wheels from the team they will come mounted with a free set of tires on them if that's how you want them.

Tom,
I didnt see the above post before I replied to your pm. What kind of 18" wheels are we talking about here?

Shannon, I would apologize for the thread hijack but since you got to attend the 24 and the races in Daytona I'm just gonna be a jealous sum bitch and keep posting here. haha  I hope that's alright?

If there are any 17s available please give Shannon first dibs as this is his thread and he was asking for them first. I'll just take whats left over, but tell me more about the 18 wheels. ;-)

Anthony
