So I’ve learned a lot in this process.
Bank 2 is the actual culprit. Car runs fine until it goes into closed loop.
It seems intermittent, while monitoring fuel trims while driving they seem fine, and not all the time but sometimes at idle they will increase up to like +22 or around there so...
So I’ve almost narrowed it down to a few things. My compression test kit just got here today. Going to perform that this weekend
Here are my findings so far:
- All 8 spark plugs are new (same ones from initial replacement)
- coils are new, tested spark with each one.
- Fuel injectors are good...
Going to attempt a compression test which i realize i have should have done this from the beginning before wasting time/money but you live and you learn lol.
Noid test was good. The light was VERY dim. Im wondering if this is due to the impedance of the aftermarket injectors (Ford Performance...
I haven’t sent the ECU off yet. Noid test kit will be here today. I actually ended up sending the fuel injectors off to get cleaned to ensure they are 100%. I should get the fuel injectors back by the end of the week. Waiting to hear back if they found anything.
I inadvertently drove with the...
While i wait to hear back about the PCM - if the cars camshaft timing is off/missed , does this mean my motor is most likely hurt?
I uploaded a clip of the idle, unsure if anyone can hear the misfire or not :)
I think ive pretty much covered everything i can. I may get a noid tester which...
Wow what are the odds. My late father in law (who i inherited this car from) Actually bought this ECU from FS1 so they are going to RMA it for free. Thanks for the reccomendation :)
Going to send PCM off to see if there’s any issues with it.
No change with g201 ground. Made sure it was a good ground also by using it as a ground and checking voltage on the 8 pin connector.
If the ECU is not the issue I’m almost certain it’s the camshaft timing. Car had a comp cams, valve...
You know what, this might be it. I was looking around the ECU/PCM earlier and did NOT see this ground anywhere. I will take another look tomorrow.
Found this picture on youtube.
For the radio noise capacitor #2, where is this located? I tried to look up and it may be near the coils?
Starting to think the camshaft timing on that side is off. I’ve replaced everything minus fuel injectors and they are fairly new.
Time to open up the wallet….
