So the 97 cobra crank is forged? I thought that year was steel crank?

I'm looking to buy a 97 cobra for pretty cheap, engine is Disassembled and out of the car. The crank is messed up due to the rods needs to be turned. Is it worth turning or should my 5.4 2v crank work just fine in the cobra? Are all the 4.6 Sohc and 5.4 sohc cranks all the same as the 96-98...

Maybe someone can help me out, I'm looking to buy an 97 cobra, talked the guy down alot on the car because the engine is Disassembled and has scaring on the crank, he was telling me I need it to get turned?? Which I really don't want to do, so I was wondering I have a 5.4 2v in my shop, are the...
