I love the 3160 in my GT350R!
What sorts of issues would there be to do the install? New clutch, flywheel, driveshaft ok. Any other weird things like speedo hookups or anything else?
I had an AED tune on my Laguna Seca and it revved out beautifully with just a Steeda Boss intake and Borla S Type axlebacks. I turned the rev limit down to 7900 instead of 8200 because I was worried about those types of revs causing damage. This was nearly 10 years ago - it seems like people...
Is that for real?? Turning 8900rpm?? Amazing if true. The Boss 302 Pirelli Challenge race cars had their rev limits between 8200 and 8400 if I recall - I hadn't ever heard of Coyotes or Roadrunners running any higher.
I totally get it. I waited to buy one until the final year of production because I was worried about possible engine issues. I freaking love mine and drive the heck out of it, including a road trip from TX to CA last summer. These cars really get under your skin and although I agree that the...
OP - sounds like you have a fun idea on your hands. The 350s have the better brakes, steering, rear diff, mag ride, wider front fenders, etc etc etc. I've always thought that if my motor blew, I would put an Aluminator 5.2 in it. Looking forward to seeing what you do!
Just to be clear - only the 2020 GT350R model got the revised front knuckles. The "regular" GT350 did not.
If I were in the market, I also would probably only look at a 2019 or 20 model with the Gen 2 engine. Lots of speculation on the web about exact differences but, in general terms, the...
RST is the one mod that allowed me to finally shift above 7k rpm without lockout. It really did transform the car. I was running a 7900rpm rev limit for years and the RST never prevented a shift, unlike the OE clutch (and a Spec Stg 1).
RST will usually have a bite point right at the top of...
SID297 has the right idea. I've owned 2 Bosses and now a GT350R. The 3160 is night and day better than the MT82 - and I went through everything to make it better: Blowfish bracket, Whiteline bushing, MGW, RST clutch, etc. Even with all of the that, the 3160 is so much better to shift...
Steeda jacking rails are excellent for the Boss. Makes life so much easier when jacking the car up - you can just feel for the rail with your hand and line up the jack with it and then start jacking. No leaning over on your hands and knees to make sure you are putting the jack in the right...
Hello noco5.0 - Those wheels might work. My only concern would be making sure they clear the front calipers. I ran two different 19x10 squared setups on my Boss 302: Boss 302S (19x10 ET47 I think?) wheels then Forgestars in 19x10 ET41. Also, I do not know if a 275/40 is going to cause any...
If you are annoyed with your RST/RXT engagement point up high, installing the Maximum Motorsports adjustable clutch pedal stop will transform the car's driveability. I had grown to sort of hate my RST because of that high engagement point but the adjustable stop changed that completely. So...
