Hey guys... I am looking into the used GT350 market. Long story short, I had a 2011 GT500 SVTPP that I totaled a few weeks ago. Freak accident, nothing major. Fresh rain, I was being cautious, downshifted, rpms jumped, wheels spun, and that was all she wrote. Negotiating with the insurance on...
Lol... I bought my 2011 used in June '17. 7,400 miles and the clutch "blew up" at 7,600. I knew it was slipping and would need to be replaced but I didn't expect it to just die like that. Replaced it with a Spec SS and it's rock solid again. Nearing 10,000 miles now so nearly 2,500 on the Spec.
I do know that you should NOT do 3500 rpm tire spinning burnout launches with traction control on!
What I found out is that the traction control attempts to pulse the brakes to get the spin under control. It will continually do this so when you are trying to spin the tires it makes the system...
Those tires in the 17" version have a tread width of 11.7" per tirerack's measurements. I am assuming that the 18" version is going to be very similar.
Rule of thumb is to be no more than +/- 0.5" difference between wheel width and tread width. It would be a pretty tight fit to put that on a...
In June I paid $36k for my 2011 GT500 SVTPP (Nav, Stripe delete) with 7400 miles. It had some light mods (supercharger pulley, idler pulley, intake, spark plugs, lund tune, X4 reader, adjustable panhard bar, O/R H-pipe, 170* thermostat, adjustable rear shocks, lowering rear springs, oil...
I bought mine from a dealer a couple months ago. 2011 SVTPP with 7400 miles and some simple/tasteful upgrades. The experience was simple. Take it out for a test drive, here's the price, sold.
My dad uses a Coverking AutoBody Armor cover on his outdoor vette (silly guy). It has held up really well. The car is parked under cover but not in a garage. I don't know how well it would do exposed 100% to the elements but that is what it is designed for so it would probably be pretty solid...
I was researching tires a TON recently. Go check out tirerack.com for the tires you are specifically looking at. They measure the "Tread Width" on the tires. Recommendation is to go no more than 0.5" wider or narrower than your wheel width. So my 9.5" wheels should have no more than a 10" tread...
Just setting up my account and saying hi. I've been digging through and reading threads to learn as much as I can. I'll keep doing so but I'm sure some questions will come up.
I purchased a 2011 GT500 SVTPP with 7400 miles in June 2017. It's silver with stripe delete. Original owner left it...
