Starting on my new car in the next few days, but now im in a dilemma. The car is a 1994 GT 8.50 Cert Cage, Completely gutted race car on stock style suspension. I originally planned on doing a coyote swap this whole time but a few days ago a friend of mine let me know he had a teksid block in great shape as well as a set of 03/04 cobra complete heads with cams. For around the same price I can build a completely forged 4.6 ($3000 including the price of the block and heads) vs a stock F150 coyote (1700) with opg, car cams, intake etc. Both setups will eventually see boost, i know the teksid will be more superior then the coyote sleeves, but what would you guys do, or rather how do you see them out with pros and cons?

coyote
it uses 4.6 rods so that helps keep the cost down, and the 1st get coyote stuff is starting to come down in price as well

you will spend a bit more for the 5.0 but i think you'd regret not getting it vs the 4.6

I know even though the 4.6 4V has been out since 96, there seems to be a larger supply in the aftermarket for the coyote engine, The only real intake options you have for a non blower 4v 4.6 is a 99/01 Cobra (Mach1), Sullivan, or Fabricated. None of those are cheap or getting cheaper, while there are CJ intakes going on ebay right now for $500-600.

After being mid build for a 4.6, it gets a lot more expensive than you expect. The coyote is a superior engine, 5.0 swap it.

I feel ya with the engine confusion. I traded my 04 Yamaha R6 for a 99 Cobra with a 02 2v GT engine. (Straight title swap)It runs fine, but I cannot decide between a coyobra or to do a termi swap. Only downside I see for coyote is the stock airbags will not work. Not a big deal with your roll cage car. I will probably keep an eye out and do the coyote swap once I can find a good used engine. Good luck!

The fact that you used the term "Real Talk" I say sell the Mustang, buy a Subaru BRZ, and go to Vaping Meets.

408w?

i seriously considered a 408w with AFR 205 and a victor with a .6xx cam for my current fox build. easy 500+ torque on pump gas

393 or 408 should do the trick in my opinion. Only issue will be going forced induction and I don't remember what the limit is for a stock 351w block. I believe 302s were around 450 before splitting.

And speaking of 302s (non-modular) you could probably build a nasty 302 that will rev to the moon. I recall a guy with a built 302 in his classic Mustang and he was laying the smack down on a lot of people. I'll try to find the vid.

351 block = 600 easy. 700 and its time to start worrying

yeah people don't realize that the 3 inch stroke of the 302 will let it rev to the moon. its just that the 2 bolt stock block don't like those rpm's

every time i consider a windsor vs coyote, i see this and it puts all doubts to bed
