Give me a lighter weight 2018 GT with the Bullitt gear and I might get in line.

Bullitt sucks doesnt matter what year, its nothing but an over priced GT with a bullitt badge and minimal power bump, like 10hp, if that.

I wouldnt be surprised if this thing is pushing 10k more than a semi-loaded GT.

Let's see 2008 - GT, Bullitt or GT500. They were not turds for their time, you're a turd of our time.

How silly of you to throw the 08 GT500 in the mix, has nothing to do with an 08 Bullitt, unlike the rip off that was the bullitt, the 08 Shelby actually offered up some impressive performance.

08 Bullit was just an overpriced GT, rip off for suckers.

I do have to admit, I did get a kick out of your rage. Figures that the same guy that owns a bullitt, would also own an FJR and a Tiger... Lol.

Overpriced gt? Saleen, roush and Shelby have all sold gt performance at a greater upgrade cost than either 01/08 Bullits. Bullits sold for less than loaded mustang GT's. I'm not sure how you see them as over priced? The z28 on the other hand.

I have never seen Bullits selling New for 33% off of msrp like I saw the new z28 selling for.

My take on this is that a new Bullitt would be nice but it would be no GT 500. Why is Ford pussy footing around with special editions and not give us a new GT 500 that would not only blow the doors off any version of the Camaro and Challenger but their hoods and trunk lids as well in any kind of performance engagement.

It's not just a GT with 10 more HP - Ford Racing’s Power Upgrade Package added 15 extra horsepower to the Mustang GT’s 300 ponies. Suspension tweaks included stiffer shocks, springs, and a strut tower brace, giving the Bullitt extra bite in the corners. Bullitt-specific front brake pads and 3.73 rear gears rounded out the mechanical upgrades.

Because in 08 you had 3 choices for V8 Mustangs - GT / Bullitt / GT500 and the performance rating in that order. It was no Boss 302 or a GT350 but it is a better car than the regular GT "Suspension tweaks included stiffer shocks, springs, and a strut tower brace, giving the Bullitt extra bite in the corners. Bullitt-specific front brake pads and 3.73 rear gears rounded out the mechanical upgrades" I bought one because I think they look better than the regular GT and mine now has a suspension that's better than the 2013 Boss I owned.

Bike choice has nothing to do with what car I drive, I bought what fits me well because at 6'4" tall riding something like a YZF or Speed Triple isn't the least bit comfortable nor do I fit well on them. I save my speed addiction for the road course in my car, my bikes are for commuting and cruising around and the ones I own fit that bill perfectly. What bike do you own?

DHG is a fantastic color. If that's the color you wanted you had to go with the Bullitt in 2008, as it wasn't available on regular GT's. Combine that with the cleaner look of the Bullitt exterior and you have a gorgeous car. You could put 9 super clean 2008-9 GT's next to a clean 2008-9 Bullitt and I'd pick the Bullitt every time.

Look man, 08 GTs or bullitts were not known for their performance. But to me, the GT was at least adequately priced. On the other hand, the bullitt was overpriced in my opinion.

As far as bikes, I started / learned in a CBR600 F4, then shortly upgraded to a CBR954RR. This was in 2002-2004. I havent ridden in many years.

Simple power adder or Coyote swap will solve the performance problem. Then again the S197 I, is my favorite modern muscle car. So it doesn't bother me that they might be slow, you can make anything quicker.

I don't think it's likely Ford is going to make something that is going to beat the Challenger in a straight line.

I loved my 09 bullitt. sure it would have been nice if it had more power, but i think it was like a $3,500 package. The exhaust sounded really good stock and great with a ford racing muffler swap. has some nice interior tweaks. I really liked the simple exterior changes. Its not for everyone but I would buy one again. Its not always about pure speed some cars a just cool.

The 1st gen s197 is the boomer generation cars, retro, which looked good till the replacements completely overshadowed it in looks and performance.

Performance yes, looks not a chance. In my eyes at least. They aren't for some and they're perfect for others. Quite happy with both my little 3V's.
